Alex stepped up and played a huge role for the Skippers in their win over Chanhassen. He finished the game with a season-high 16 points, finding success attacking the basket and finishing around the rim through contact. With that contact, he drew many fouls and got to the line very frequently. Jones’ rebounding on both ends of the floor is what allowed his team to put the game away down the stretch. He came away with many clutch boards on the offensive side of the ball, providing second chance opportunities for his team. He also played solid defense all game by altering opponent’s shot attempts and taking charges. On a team full of ball handlers and scorers, Alex played his role perfectly on Wednesday and was a major part of why Minnetonka came away with a win.

Alex brought an extra level of toughness to the floor for Minnetonka. They play without a true forward, but Alex was playing much bigger than his size with his ability to take charges in the lane to make up for not having a rim protector, while going down on the other end and finishing through contact around the basket. When one of Tonka’s guards would look to drive, Alex put himself into the right spots to take a dump off pass and explode to the basket. Got his team fired up with taking charges and finishing off and-ones that gave his team a ton of momentum. Finished with 13 points in the win over St. Cloud Tech.
