One of the standout defenders from the day was Jake Lis Jake Lis 6'1" | PG/CG Minnetonka | 2027 MN of Minnesota Heat GVR 16u. Heat was looking to trap/double team constantly out on the perimeter against All Wisconsin, and Jake was thriving in that aggressive defensive style, coming up with steals in bunches throughout the game. Jake was able to strip the ball from opposing guards, or jump cross-court passes to then get his team out in transition. High effort player who has caught my eye with his defensive play multiple times this spring/summer.

Jake was all over the place coming up with plays defensively for Minnesota Heat . Just a high energy guy on that end of the floor who isn’t afraid to pick up and defend opposing guards the length of the floor. Has the speed to recover back if he gets beat, fights to get over screens in the half-court, and has quick hands to poke the ball free at the right moments. The type of guard who can go in and impact a game without needing a bunch of touches offensively.
