Devontae Cobb | Prep Hoops Scout
Ahmad Hudson didn’t hold back during his 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting, 8 rebounds, and 6 block performance. Dangerous mid-post game, capable of turning over either shoulder for the jumper while showcasing a smooth and fluid one-legged fadeaway with excellent touch and mechanics. His athletic skillset was off the charts, displaying crazy speed at his size along with incredible hops, flushing one and two-handed dunks with ease and finesse, even showing off a front windmill off one leg in the open floor. He reacted quickly to lob opportunities, especially within the halfcourt while cutting to the rim, using his high-level burst and pop to elevate and finish above the defense. Hudson’s remarkable blend of production, skill, and elite athletic tools made him the most impactful prospect on the court.

Hudson is widely considered the best athlete in the nation regardless of classification and it was his efforts that lead the Bearcats to this prestigious Championship. Hudson is menace on both sides of the ball, and his presence changes the trajectory of any competition. His ability to control the boards and 5 Star Cam Williams in their final match-up was the difference in the match up. You can’t teach 6″8 they say, but you can teach hook shots, mid range shots and footwork.
Hudson was blessed with physical gifts, but the work he put in to develop his game makes him special. Add that to his uncanny shot blocking instincts, quick jumping ability, fearless hoop mentality and boyish on court charm and you have Mr.

As a sophomore, Hudson came in at number two on the list but now has risen to the top in 2025. The 6’7 man-child dominated the game in a variety of ways for a Ruston team that came in just shit of another 2028 run. He is unstoppable in the post and has developed an adequate jump shot to keep teams honest. However, his best attributes lie on the other side of the ball. He may be the best shot blocker I have seen on the Prep level, and he also rebounds at a level unseen since Paul Milsap. Player Comparison. Jalen Duren. Grissom Pick #1.

played with an unbelievably high motor, creating defensive chaos with his ability to jump passing lanes and shoot the gaps. His hands never stopped working, always active, whether he was on the ball or in the passing lane. Hudson’s defense turned into offense in a flash. In the open court, he combined speed with fluid strides before elevating and finishing above the rim with ease. His effort, quickness, and anticipation made him a two-way menace.
