KHSAA League Pass: Kentucky’s Most Exciting Teams (Part 1, Teams 10-6)
Imagine the KHSAA having a service like NBA League Pass where you can watch any game regardless of location. What teams would you watch regularly? Who would be the most fun teams to watch? Today we run through some of the more thrilling teams around the state of Kentucky that you should dig up a livestream on or check out in person if you can!
10. Pendleton County – This is a case of watching a team to see an impressive individual. Senior Dontaie Allen is a dynamic scorer who can get 40 on any given night. The system Pendleton plays is very wide open and is a lot of drive and kick for open 3s. It’s not uncommon to see Pendleton playing in the 80s on any given night and they tend to make games exciting with a fast pace and some full court pressure.
9. Trinity – The Shamrocks are exciting for a different reason. Anyone who loves great team defensive teams like the Virginia Cavaliers or Boston Celtics would love to watch a Trinity game. They play hard nosed defense in the half court while making great rotations. They win games ugly but they win, nonetheless. Not ot mention that they have one of the best players in the state in David Johnson. The Louisville commit is capable of making multiple highlight reel plays every night out.
8. George Rogers Clark – GRC is a highly effective offensive team. They score the ball a ton whether it’s in transition or in the half court. Coach Josh Cook has approximately 100 sets that they can run at any time to get a particular look on offense. Seniors Jordan Graham and Brennan Canada should have big seasons and role players KJ Rucker and Jared Wellman should provide support. Not to mention freshman Jerone Morton could be a stud in the 2022 class. They have a lot of talent in Winchester.
7. Fern Creek – Speaking of having lots of talent, Fern Creek could have more raw talent than any team in the state. Sophomores Jaden Rogers, Darrius Washington and Zeke Montgomery all have a chance to play D1 basketball down the line. The Tigers also picked up some transfers this summer that will step into big roles for the Creek. And the most entertaining member of the team may be Coach Schooler. His antics on the sideline make every game a little more entertaining.
6. Ballard – Ballard has plenty of talent this season but they make the list because Coach Renner’s group is consistently fun to watch. Every year the Bruins play fast and loose, speeding up opponents with trademark pressure and consistently pushing the pace offensively. There is a reason Ballard has been to the state championship game so many times over the years and that’s because they are always talented and play hard and with great pace. Consistently one of the most fun teams to watch in Kentucky.
