Prospect Analysis: Douglass vs Southeast

The inner city rivalries of Oklahoma City bring out the best in all player. The fight for playoff seeding combine with bragging right has everyone playing at a high level. The Prep Hoops Oklahoma staff was out at Douglass High School for Tuesday nights match up between the Douglass Trojans and the Southeast Spartans. Douglass was able to emerge victorious 93-83. These are a few of the top performers. <strong>2016 Shooting Guard Patrick McKaufman Douglass </strong> McKaufman may have been the highest stock riser of the season. He scored 38 points on the night in every which way he wanted to but excelled when attacking and playing above the rim. McKaufman is very athletic and has the ability to take over a game. Expect many more big performances from him on a consistent basis. <strong>2017 Point Guard Trejon Edwards Douglass</strong> Edwards was big in sparking the Trojans coming out of the locker room. He is a speedy guard that isn't afraid to go up amongst those in the lane looking for contact and finishing through it. Edwards finished with 11 points on the night. <strong>2016 Point Guard Reuben Lasarge Douglass</strong> Lasarge also came up with timely buckets to stretch his teams lead. He is a scrap guard who will always find a way to be involved in the game even when his shot isn't fall. It fell early and often for Lasarge on Tuesday night putting in three 3-pointers and finishing with 20 points on the night. <strong>2017 Shooting Guard Corion Mason Douglass </strong> The lefty Mason found himself in a different roll tonight. Usually a 3-point specialist, Mason hit only one 3 pointer on the night but still managed to finish with 12 points on the night by driving to the lane and converting at the free throw line. <strong>2018 Shooting Guard Sergio Nelson Douglass</strong> Nelson was able to pour in 8 points on the night but that wasn't his role. His assignment was to defend the opposition’s Dashawn McDowell and Nelson was able to hold his own on the perimeter all while giving up 9 inches to McDowell. <strong>2016 Shooting Guard Dashawn McDowell Southeast</strong> McDowell poured in yet another big night with 37 points. All of his points came from 2-point land and the free throw line. He often put his head down in transition and even in the half court to drive to the line finishing with both his right and left hand. <strong>Shooting Guard Ron Walker Southeast</strong> Walker is a big part of what Southeast does and he was big again Tuesday night. He scored 17 points in an impressive shooting performance. He also had active hands on defense and got out in transition either leading the break or filling the lane. <strong>Point Guard Jeff Foreman Southeast </strong> Foreman’s contributions were timely coming up with big buckets in the second half to keep the Spartans within reach. He has a lot of length that allows him to cause problems on the perimeter. Foreman ended the night with 10 points.
