The 2028 class saw a big change as top ranked prospect William Brunson transferred from Rutgers Prep to IMG Academy on Wednesday. The group is still filled with talent who should make a big impact this season, especially on the perimeter. Here are the top small forwards in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436976' first='Marque' last='Johnson'], 6'5 Lawrenceville

Johnson is now the top ranked small forward in the class and should put his game on display during the summer AAU period. The 6'5 lefty explodes off the floor for dunks and is unafraid of drawing contact. Johnson uses his quick first step to blow by his defender and can also score in the mid-range. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Johnson is a talented forward prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628235' first='King' last='Josiah Hamilton'], 6'6 Life Center Academy

Hamilton has the ability to play either forward spot, making him an intriguing prospect to track. The 6'6 forward knows how to get position down low and can finish through contact. Hamilton can also put the ball on the floor and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He is a strong rebounder and works hard on the defensive end. Hamilton is a gritty forward prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor during the summer and fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2414310' first='Bridgie' last='McMillan'], 6'6 Bergen Catholic

McMillan is the top ranked 2028 small forward prospect playing in the NJSIAA and will look to show why this winter. The 6'6 forward has a good face-up game as he can get to the rim off the bounce and finishes well around the rim. McMillan rises up nicely on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated passer and slides his feet on the defensive end. McMillan will get more touches on the offensive end this season, which will help his stock in a big way over the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763632' first='Zymere' last='Weaver'], 6'4 St. Thomas Aquinas

Weaver's collegiate future might lie on the gridiron, but that won't stop him from making an impact on the hardwood. The 6'4 wing has a nice handle, which he uses to get into the lane off the bounce and knows how to finish around the rim. Weaver is able to find his open teammates in the half court and moves well without the ball in his hands. He uses his length to defend multiple positions on the floor and pushes the pace well in transition. Weaver is a lanky forward prospect who should make plays at both ends throughout the course of his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2683638' first='RJ' last='Wicks'], 6'6 Union Catholic

Wicks has had a big spring and should carry it over into the summer. The 6'6 wing rises up for dunks in the half court and can also finish around the rim. Wicks rarely forces jumpers in the half court and moves well without the ball in his hands. He works hard on the defensive end and gets deflections on the defensive end. Wicks picked up an offer from Wagner during the spring and is looking to expand his offer sheet this season.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2390429' first='Bryce' last='Higgins'], 6'3 Immaculata

[player_tooltip player_id='2958183' first='Marcel' last='Carr'], 6'5 St. Joseph's Metuchen

[player_tooltip player_id='2504897' first='Wayne' last='Sminkle'], 6'4 Pennington

[player_tooltip player_id='2961647' first='Stephen' last='Kmetz'], 6'6 Delbarton

[player_tooltip player_id='3657662' first='Layne' last='Pawlowski'], 6'6 Hillsborough
