<p>March 14 PH NorCal was in Sacramento CA, at Golden 1 Center for the California State Championships for boys basketball. Divisions I, III, and V games were played on Friday. PH NorCal was there for Saturday games. There was some lower division success for NorCal this year. The Open teams from the Southern California continue to dominate at the highest levels of high school boys basketball in California.</p>

<p><strong>Open Championship Game: Sierra Canyon 78, Salesian College Prep 70</strong></p>

<p>Salesian gets off to a good start, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1707503' first='Carlton' last='Perrilliat Jr.'] The 6'5 Sr is headed to Sac State to play football. He had 8pts in the 1st quarter to give Salesian a 16-10 lead, finished with 21pts for the game. [player_tooltip player_id='3341226' first='Maximo' last='Adams'] Sierra Canyons 6'8 forward left the game for good with 4:44 left in the 1st quarter. Sierra Canyon turned it up a notch on the defensive side of the ball. The speed, length, and arguably the best player in California [player_tooltip player_id='2131779' first='Brandon' last='McCoy'], 20pts, 8/10fgs, 6r, 4b, 3s, 2a and a good young core forced the pride into 18 turnovers. Salesian didn't quit, NorCal's #1 ranked prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1703096' first='Elias' last='Obenyah'] 6'5 Guard headed to Stanford, has two appearances in the State finals for his career led the Pride with 27pts. 4-6 from 3. 78-70</p>

<p><strong>Div II: San Joaquin Memorial 46, Bakersfield Christian 45</strong></p>

<p>Both of these teams are located closer to Fresno in the Central Valley. San Joaquin Memorial was the representative for NorCal, while Bakersfield Christian was sent to SoCal to represent in the CIF Div II Championship Game. It was a close back and forth game throughout the contest. [player_tooltip player_id='2830146' first='Parker' last='Spees'] 6'9 Sr. Forward scored 19pts, 9/13fgs, 6r. He was a constant reminder of what size, and fundamentals can do for a basketball player. He has a growing body, with a frame to fill. College Coaches he deserves a look. He's played in two State Final Games for his career. [player_tooltip player_id='2646533' first='Taiwo' last='Daramola'] 6'9 2027 PF/C from Bakersfield Christian should be on college coaches radar. He has work to do polishing up his overall game. He brings energy, protects the rim, has post presence, lift going up. He's a wide target in the post, wants the ball, has fluid movement for his size. 12pts, 6r, 2b.</p>

<p><strong>Div IV: Sacred Heart Prep 47, San Juan Hills 45</strong></p>

<p>Sacred Heart Prep is the example of a team going on a late season run. Third place in the West Bay League, 6-4, 21-11. Placed in Division IV, continued to win 11 straight games to end the season with a CIF Division IV Championship win over San Juan Hills 47-45. It was a close, low scoring game, lots of intensity, passing, and screening, neither team could breakaway. SHP led after one,10-8, held a 24-17 lead at the half, before San Juan could tighten things up with a better second half of play. [player_tooltip player_id='1988352' first='Alex' last='Osterloh'] 6'3 Sr. Point Guard for SHP, (Claremont McKenna) was the MVP of the game. He's an experienced do it all prospect. They move him around to take advantage of his vision, and excellent passing skills. 15pts, 4r, 4a. <strong>Rocco Jensen </strong>for SJH is a 6'4 Sr. G/F scored 10pts, well below his season average of 21.2pts per game.</p>
