He has good court vision searching for open cutters, finding shooters, and feeding the post. He’ll use a dribbles to hit the mid-range, and paint jumper, he handles contact to finish drives. He showed multiple ways to get into the paint using just three dribbles before coming to a controlled jump stop. From there, Osterloh had an impressive arsenal of counters—rising up for a jumper, stepping through for a long layup, reverse pivoting into a fadeaway, or faking the fadeaway into an up-and-under move. His ability to get into the lane consistently created scoring opportunities, often leading to assists as the short corner opened up or perimeter shooters found themselves wide open. Although Osterloh knows how to keep the game simply, he showed plenty of athleticism. He eluded defenders in a variety of ways which led to highlight finishes around the hoop. Alex even snuck in a dunk or two over Team Esface’s 4-0 weekend!

A solid combo guard, but does a good job of running the point. He’ll look to get others involved with quality passing. He has the vision to find cutters to the basket, and shooters spotting up around the perimeter after he drives looking for kick-outs, and dump offs to the post. Off ball he has good balance and strong moves going to the basket. He squares up with a jab step, he can hit the paint jumper, uses a nice spin move to get closer

He’s along aggressive guard when has the ball. He can handle, pass and drive into the paint looking for buckets or to pass the ball out to open shooters. He has good range on his jump shot, he’ll drop a transition 3. He’ll push and pass it up with good vision in transition. His numbers should go up this season.

He looks best playing in a fast paced game, handling and pushing the ball in transition, looking to go coast to coast, if there’s an opening, he goes hard to the rim handling contact. He’s a combo guard who can hit the 3ptr when he sets up along the perimeter. He gives good effort on the defensive side.
