17U Standouts from Saturday
Saturday’s 17U Standouts
William Becker — Colorado Hawks 17U
Will looked like a man amongst boys on Saturday. He slashed and finished at the rim, got out on the breaks and finished and read double teams and found the open man which made it difficult for opposing teams to contain him. He finished with five dunks in a game and that showed what he could do. He just recently got his release from Binghamton, which reopened his recruitment and he’s now looking to gain some exposure.
Dalen Ridgnal — KC Spurs 17U
Dalen is a high motor player that is relentless on glass and has great hands around the basket. He is big man that can grab the rebound and go if guards are tightly covered. Along with that, he played above the rim without having to take many plays off. With his play on Saturday he was an easy standout on a dangerous KC Spurs team.
Daijon Smith — Colorado Hawks USS 17U
Daijon is a player that you’ll hear a lot about until he finds the right school. He has a versatile game that stands out as he has been a matchup nightmare over the weekend. He has been seeing double teams and getting rid of it early, but his finishes at the rim has made him stand out. He’s an above average passer that finds the open man but can score with the best of them.
Kobe Stroughter — Las Vegas Prospects 17U
Kobe Stroughter is definitely a rising star in the class of 2021. He’s a guard that’s playing up with 17U team here at Spring-kickoff. Kobe has shown great athleticism and toughness and also is one of the higher IQ players of the day. Opponents are having a hard time slowing him down and he’s finding his flow early in games. With his continued success, the Las Vegas Prospects will be a team that will take down a few tournaments this summer
Matthew Ragsdale — The Force 17U
Matthew is an under the radar guy that showed out on Saturday. He forces the defense to play at his pace and he doesn’t make many mistakes. He can knock down shots, no matter the depth or angle and is the leader of a Force team that went 3-0 and surprised many in the first two days. If Matthew can continue his play, this Force team will be one of the better AAU teams in the state.
