Nickle Dickle Days: Top Five Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We checked in with our many sources that roamed around the Nickle Dickle Day event that included three on three basketball, a three point contest and the dunk contest and we give you five names of high school players that stood out. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let me make this clear quick, this is the boys basketball level of high school so no girls hoops here, no mens league, no ten year olds, and no specialists. We are talking about the high school basketball players that deserve some fall mention on their profiles/resumes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2126458' first='Luke' last='Schroeder'] of Shakopee</strong>. Luke had the biggest day of any high school player at this event and arguably of any player at Nickle Dickle Days. His three on three team of he, [player_tooltip player_id='2404942' first='King' last='James'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] won the high school age event and I love that it was a group of four guys that have four very different skill areas from four different AAU teams coming together to win gold. Then in the three point contest, Luke had a first round high school of 25 and then won the championship round with a score of 23. When it comes to jumpers, Luke has as much confidence and repetitive consistency as you will see in a shooter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2404942' first='King' last='James'] of Hiawatha Collegiate</strong>. As we just mentioned, James was on the three on three team that won the event using his double double explosiveness to finish at the rim and board everything. Then he moved over to the dunk contest and went toe to toe with a dunk specialist which is quite impressive. It was Dylan against King with 50 after 50 and that's pretty impressive considering James was going against a person that practices spectacular dunks as his main craft and King is of course a top 10-15 level player/prospect and an athlete that could perform at a high level in this scenario. James took second but he and Dylan put on a show. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1560741' first='Will' last='Kirsch'] of </strong>Waconia. Kirsch had the second best totaled up number in the three point contest going 19 and 21 for his two rounds. He had the second biggest total overall and he finished in second place missing a back to back championship by a basket or two. Kirsch is easily one of the best unsigned seniors in the state and his status as one of the state's top shooters was backed up in this three on three contest scenario. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1552751' first='Michael' last='McKenzie'] of Eagan</strong>. McKenzie is also considered one of the better shooters in the senior class and his numbers backed that up as well. He was a double figure scorer for a top ten level school last year and he scored a 17 in the first round which was good for third place, and then scored an 18 in the finals round earning him second place for the three on three contest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1560784' first='Woeser' last='Jenpa'] of Prior Lake</strong>. We are always, always on the lookout for some new names and or a breakout event for a player, and this might have been the weekend for Woeser who is a 6'4 forward that played on the Prior Lake junior varsity last season. Jenpa scored a 19 in the quarterfinals qualifying for the finals and then had a 16 in the finals which was a solid score as well. Making a finals with Schroeder, Kirsch, McKenzie and [player_tooltip player_id='1560795' first='Maddox' last='Lewis'] is an eye catching thing. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
