The #1 ranked 2028 prospect, Felberg, had a very productive season at the varsity level as a starter in class A basketball for Clark/Willow Lake. They made the state tournament, and Felberg was honored at the end of the season as a third-team All-State and first-team All-NEC selection, scoring 13.3 points per game and grabbing 8.6 rebounder per game. He's already 6'7” and his profile and next-level position is dependent on how he grows and matures physically, but I think he will be a D1 guy.

Sioux Falls Christian will be able to recharge quite easily after winning the State A title. The 6'8” 2028 Big is a major part of the equation for the champs going forward. He was a JV starter and his skill and touch around the rim is improving. He's becoming more aggressive and attacking the ball more frequently as a rebounder. His length allows him to high-point the ball over smaller opponents.

Strande is the best pure point guard in the 2028 class. He's the safest prospect in the class and he's a no-brainer D2 prospect, with D1 upside. In the update, I had at 6'1”, but I found he may be up to 6'2” now. He's probably somewhere in between, but that's a guess by me. Not a huge difference, but if he's growing taller and it continues some, that's major for his stock. I think he'll be the best “player” in the state by his Senior year and has potential to be the best prospect as well. Having him at #4 may be slightly conservative. It's still very early for the 2028 class. This Spring/Summer, Strande will be the leader on both ends for [program_tooltip program_id='2228190' first='TEAM' last='Warwick'] 15U.

Mitch was already mentioned in the stock-risers article. I wanted to make clear that he may be taller than his 6'1” height listed by Varsity Bound. I usually go by Varsity Bound to get heights on prospects, but Grant is taller than 6'1” by my eye, and also his X account has him at 6'2” and [program_tooltip program_id='2228190' first='TEAM' last='Warwick'] is listing him at 6'3”. So another case of him probably being in between those marks, but he'll most likely keep growing, so I elected to put him at 6'3”.

I've seen a lot of Owen in the past, and up live, and he's clearly a top prospect in the class, but I maybe only saw him 2-3 times this season, twice as the starting Big for Mitchell's Sophomore team, and once as the first Big off the bench with the JV. So not a major update on him right now, but he's the most physical Big in the class and he was dominant and a mismatch at the Sophomore level. He's an easy D2 scholarship-level prospect and the next Big for Mitchell and Coach Kreutzfeldt to bank on.

Myles is the brother to #1 ranked 6'9” 2026 and D1 prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1467166' first='Blake' last='Ellwein']. So the genetics are obviously top-notch and little bro has a chance to grow taller yet from his 6'3” frame. He was a varsity bench rotational player for AA Huron this past season. He's one of the top 3-point shooters in the class and has upside to rise up the rankings if he grows to 6'6”+.

Lincoln was a varsity player for State AA champs Brandon Valley. I really liked his game at the Prep Hoops Dakotas Freshman Showcase last summer, but his quick ascenion onto the AA varsity scene surprised me some. He's highly skilled with a controlled handle on the ball, and has an accurate and smooth and consistently on-target 3-ball game. I think he'll be on the AA breakout candidates article before next season starts.

Veenhof was also a varsity guard off the bench for class A Madison. He's a big guard with some body mass and he's got skill and composure at a young age. He can handle the ball and shows great court vision as a passer. Passes well and on target to teammates. Offensively, he likes to methodically and effectively get to his spots and his middle game.
