Poynter has had an explosive June with basketball, including a 38 point performance in a game earlier this summer. This past weekend, Chi played well enough to capture the attention of a few mid major D1 schools. If he can shoot the ball well enough, Poynter is a good enough athlete to attract plenty of schools.

A breakout star in the 5th region so far this season, Poynter is averaging 22 points and 11 rebounds per game for Coach Brewer’s Tigers. A big time slasher who excels at getting to the rim, Chi has had some huge scoring games this season already and looks like he’s got potential to be the best Sophomore in the 5th.

Chi makes a big leap in this round of updates as he goes from 108th to 39th overall. Poynter looks like he has a lot of growing left to do and he has the ability to play like a big guard or go to the block and score. Keep an eye on this young man to develop under the coaching of Boo Brewer.

A big wing with the potential to be a big time player in the near future, Poynter is only 13 years old and has a high prospect ceiling. Chi has good genetics with a 6’8 dad but he also plays hard and with a good motor that is something not every freshman has figured out. Poynter is a name to monitor in a loaded 2028 class in the 5th region.
