Ballard has more size than a lot of colleges do and Connor is likely the most overlooked of the bunch. A big body who has some skill as well, Phillips should be in line for more opportunity as a Junior. When I’ve been able to see Connor play before, he’s shown he can rebound the ball at a high rate and knows how to use his body to create room around the rim. He’s definitely a name to monitor in the 502 next season.

I remember seeing Phillips as a 7th grader at Evangel Christian a few years ago and filing his name away for later. After a quiet couple of years, Connor has popped up at Ballard and should be part of their young and gigantic rotation. Featuring 3 players who are 6’7 or taller, Ballard likely has the tallest front line in the state. That should allow Phillips to play the 4 and not be stuck on the block as a 5 man.
