Gilvin was one of three players to finish with double figures in Griffin Elite 17U’s Friday night matchup over the weekend. As one of Kentucky’s top juniors, he’s proven to be a high-level player with one of the most complete games in his class. He has an advanced understanding of the game and pairs it with quick instincts to put himself and his teammates in positions to succeed. His ability to apply tight ball pressure and use his quick hands to force deflections stood out in the contest.

Gilvin is, in my opinion, the best player in the 27 class that never gets talked about with the rest. Garrison does a ton for Trinity. He scores, he rebounds and he creates for others. Not to mention how hard he guards the ball. He also posted 50/40/79 shooting splits on the season. With a big AAU season, Garrison could earn his first scholarship offers.

Gilvin put up a double-double in the win over Clay on Saturday and was efficient in doing so. Garrison was only 1/4 from range but he was 6/9 on twos and led the Rocks in rebounding too. Garrison plays with a great motor and is showed as he was a difference maker.

Climbing nearly 20 spots from 36th to 17th in this update, Garrison has quickly gone from unranked to top 20 and hasn’t show signs of slowing down. A bigger guard who can play on or off the ball on offense and really knows how to defend on the other end, Gilvin has been one of the biggest stock boosters this AAU season on our Prep Hoops Circuit.

Louisville Trinity graduated a lot of depth from last season but their two leading scorers return and form one of the better wing guard duos in all of Kentucky. Gilvin has been a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit in the spring and continued his impressive play with his high school program in June. Gilvin does an excellent job of using pump fakes and playing off balance. Gilvin also was impressive finishing in traffic, using his strong frame to get a couple and-1 layups.

into First Team All-Tournament honors. This past weekend was no different. The super talented 6’3″ guard was one of the top prospects at the event and led his team to the 17u title while playing up an age group. Gilvin scored 23 points in the VIP Kings quarterfinal victory and backed it up with 21 points and 9 rebounds in the championship game. The Trinity High School prospect has really made a name for himself this spring as one of the more talented guards in Kentucky’s Class of 2027.

Anytime the VIP Kings play in a Prep Hoops event you can pretty much pencil in Garrison Gilvin to a First Team All-Tournament spot. The Havoc in the Heartland was no different as the athletic, skilled, 6’3″ guard score 17 points in their Saturday morning win and ultimately led them to a perfect 4-0 weekend. Everything he does becomes more impressive as well when you remember that he is playing up a year as a Class of 2027 prospect.

Galvin is no stranger to these top performer lists at our Prep Hoops events. One of the more talented Class of 2027 prospects in the state of Indiana, this 6’3″ guard from Trinity High School in Louisville consistently dominates while playing up an age group. That was certainly the case once again on Saturday morning as he scored a team-leading 17 points in the VIP Kings 17u’s win. His athletic ability and ball skill standout every single weekend.
