Beau rounds out this list of risers in the new rankings as he consistently progressed each time that we saw him this Summer and we saw him a ton. In different events, we saw different layers to his game, and he just seems to be adding more. He has good size for a PG, sees the floor, and makes plays for others. We also saw him create and attack mismatches, hit the mid-range over smaller defenders, and make some plays defensively as well. With the changes over at Grandview, this seems like a great opportunity for him to create a spot and show the type of player he can be. He jumped over 50 spots with the offseason he had, and if he continues to play and add like this he should be pushing for more.

Chon is another player that we saw play a few times this summer, and we feel he will get some time this year as a guard with that size and feel you find minutes for. At the showcase, he grabbed boards and started the break himself. He pushed the pace and showed that he could run an offense. He also used his frame well around the basket as it’s not just blow bys but finishes with footwork and a few back down baskets. He had a few second-chance opportunities that he finished on. I also like that he hits mid-range shots and had a few turnarounds where he shot over smaller guards defending him. He has a solid ceiling, and we saw glimpses of that at the showcase.

With Chon, the size alone stands out as a guard who can battle both inside and out, and he looks varsity-ready. Grandview is going to need him to be as depth may be an issue this season. He was making the right passes, handling pressure, and he did not look out of place from a physical standpoint, which shows the growth in his game. He’s one of the few players that we’ve seen from this Spring who looks more comfortable right now in the high school system, as he is passing and cutting away, setting screens, and rolling and shooting it once it comes to him. I am curious to see what it looks like as they give him more of a scoring load and put the ball in his hands more, as he’s going to have to be one of the rotation pieces for this upcoming season. This was a stock-boosting event for him this weekend
