Expert Analysis

After a slow start, Navis got things going late in the first half and in the second half for Team Herro . The skilled 6-foot-7 wing finished with 14 points, scoring mostly off the dribble while pulling up for short jump shots or finishing at the rim with his length. Adding some strength to his long frame and becoming a knock-down three-point jump shooter are the likely next steps for this scholarship prospect, but he already possesses plenty to like about his game.

Navis continues to grow and develop as a basketball player and appears headed toward a very bright future in the game. He’s up to 6-foot-7 now and remains adept at handling the ball, passing the ball and shooting the ball, traits he exhibited for Team Herro in its Friday night victory over Geek Squad out of Chicago. Navis hit a couple of threes, scored at the rim off the dribble and had a putback or two on the way to scoring 14 points in a 67-32 triumph. Navis makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, looks for his teammates and rarely forces the issue. He fits in well on a very talented Team Herro 16U EYBL squad.

The Golden Eagles struggled on Thursday night, but Navis still put together a solid all around performance. The #7 ranked player in the 2028 class, Navis finished the game with 18 points scoring in a variety of ways. The 6’7 Sophomore utilized 1-2 pullups, crafty stepthroughs, and aggressive quick step drives to score the basketball on Thursday night. Navis is already racking up the points in his young high school career averaging 22.4ppg, 12.4rpg, and 4.1 apg. Navis has a high ceiling, once he develops the other parts of his game and his overall strength. He is competing with Team Herro this spring/summer and should continue to develop to be an outstanding high school player for Head Coach Ryan Frye.

Throughout the day Jase showed why he’s considered one of the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2028 class. At 6’5-6’6 he has impressive fluidity in his movement. He’s able to beat defenders off the dribble in the half-court, effortlessly weaves through traffic in transition, and has the athleticism to take off and finish above the rim. Showed the touch to finish over the top of defenders from a variety of angles, while also being able to pull-up for a mid-range jumper if his man sags off too much. Impressive combination of length and skill at an early stage.
