A move-in from Minnesota, Diaz has starred in the early season for Evangelical Christian. Diaz has good size at 6’4 and is a solid shot maker from the perimeter. The junior has a good feel for the game and uses his athleticism to be as asset on the defensive end as well.

Although he is relatively new to the SWFL area, Donovan Diaz has made his presence known through the start of his junior year. Diaz is an effective scorer capable of scoring at all three levels but thrives most from shooting beyond the arc. Donovin has a quick release capable of getting his shot off both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot scenarios. With his ECS team looking to get on track in December, be on the lookout for Diaz as he gets more comfortable in an ECS uniform.

Donovin has an elite offensive game and it was fun to watch him go to work for scores in isolation. I was most impressed with his ability to connect with looks off the dribble, which he sometimes could shoot off balance. He could extend out to three-point makes or get to his spots in the mid-range. Most of the scores I saw from Diaz did come from the perimeter, but he can convert inside as well.
