SPIRE left with an overtime loss but by no fault of Reynolds, a rangy hybrid forward who’s had an effective pair of games thus far in Jersey. The southpaw would finish with 16 points, thriving with his length and activity around the basket. He feasted on scrap points as a cutter and crashing the glass. Additionally, Reynolds showed some ability attacking off the bounce to his left hand with flashes of floor-spacing potential to tap into moving forward. With his athletic ability, motor, and foundational skillset, Reynolds certainly looks to have upside at the mid-major level or beyond as he starts to add some strength to his frame.

Reynolds has taken his game to the next level with Spire International this season as his production has been consistent over the first two months of the season. The lefty is always in attack mode and wants to get right to the basket off the dribble. While he can sometimes rush himself as a ball handler, Reynolds decisive driving can be tough to stop if you don’t make him hit you with a counter move and he also can live at the foul line thanks to his aggressiveness. His improved confidence from 3-point range has been encouraging to watch as well, with a couple shots looking much smoother than it was in the summer. I also liked how Reynolds didn’t give up on the play and got a handful of his own misses to either score or go to the foul line. If Reynolds can keep the defense honest with an improved right hand, he should be even tougher for defenses to gameplan for. A clear stock rising prospect, Reynolds already has a handful of mid major offers and should continue to add to his list sooner rather than later if he continues this level of play.

Another prospect headed to Spire, Reynolds will be playing for the international varsity team at Spire coached by Brendan Boyle. Reynolds has a handful of mid major offers after a summer with Olentangy Liberty and Nova Village. Reynolds continues the trend of prospects gaining momentum with their high school program during June live periods before leaving prior to the next high school season.

One of the highest upside two-way prospects in Ohio, Reynolds has all the physical tools to be an impact player on both ends of the court. With his length and quick feet defensively, Reynolds can protect the rim and switch onto guards and make life difficult for them. Once Reynolds adds a little more weight and muscle he’ll be able to hold up easier Vs back to the basket bigs as well. Offensively Reynolds showed flashes for both Olentangy Liberty in the winter and All Ohio Red in the spring but I expect the next step to come either this summer or as a junior for the Patriots.

Reynolds is playing with a guard-heavy team that wants to pressure and run. With him being the biggest player on the team this could lead to him needing this pace to slow down but it’s actually the opposite. This fast-paced play is great for Reynolds. He consistently outruns the other bigs on the court. When the lanes open up for him in transition he does a great job of filling them. In the half-court, he is a good cutter and knows how to attack the rim with off-ball movement. He keeps the ball high and explodes up quickly to finish. His athleticism and size are great for the modern game and a team that wants to play fast.

Another player who had arguably his best game I’ve seen him play, Reynolds did a fantastic job of finishing at the rim after Olentangy Liberty would break the full court pressure that Reynoldsburg threw at them. With his confidence as a finisher and using his length to score and contest shots the the rim, Reynolds had a big impact on this game. The long-term upside is obvious with Reynolds and I’m expecting a breakout summer from him.

One of the more intriguing players from central Ohio’s 2027 class, Reynolds has as much defensive upside as any player in the state from this class. He’s grown a couple inches since he was a freshman and his length gives him the ability to block shots at the rim. He also moves his feet well for his size and can switch onto guards if needed. The offense is a work in progress but Reynolds is showing enough flashes where he’s climbing up our rankings at the moment. I think Olentangy Liberty is a sneaky threat to win a region this season and they’ll need Reynolds to play tough if they want to make that deep playoff push I believe they are capable of.

One of the more interesting 2027 prospects in central Ohio, Reynolds fit in well for his first game at Olentangy Liberty. Really active in the first half, Reynolds was doing a nice job of contesting shots straight up at the rim and using his length to grab rebounds. I also thought Reynolds has grown an inch since I last saw him in July, something common with underclassmen prospects. His best highlight of the day came when Reynolds jumped a passing lane and finished with a dunk at the other end, a clear 10 second representation of his two-way ability and physical gifts.

Reynolds passes the eye test when you see him. His height and size are everything you want in a young player. He then added great athletic ability and instincts to this. He is a great rebounder and someone who can go get the ball at the highest point. He is a good rim protector that makes you think twice about going to the basket. He is at new school this year so I expect him to have a bigger role than last year and show even more parts of his game off.

Reynolds is a different type of player because of his athletic ability. He has unbelievably great size with fluid movement to go along with it. Most teams did not have an answer for his size and ability. He was blocking shots, dunking everything, and cleaning up the glass. He’s a tough player to stop, just got to try and contain him.
