The Statement Session hosted by Mal Mundy and Hoopfest was once again a success. Players got to showcase their skills and receive legitimate college offers in the process. Because of the level of play at the event, I think naming an All-Statement session team would only be right. Here are the players I feel make up the All-Statement session team.

1st Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1479625' first='Broderick' last='Brooks'] (Zachary | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1105533' first='Jordan' last='Comanche'] (Wossman | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1218216' first='Jayce' last='Depron'] (Madison Prep | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1278991' first='Aumad' last='Hackett'] (Bonnabel | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1105539' first='Javon' last='Johnson'] (Bossier | 2024)

When you talk about scoring, [player_tooltip player_id='1479625' first='Broderick' last='Brooks'] has been in his bag all summer and he showed it in Youngsville. He can score at all three levels and has become highly reliable from three. He was the top scorer on the day and the variety in his offense was why. [player_tooltip player_id='1105533' first='Jordan' last='Comanche'] matched up with well against player shorter and taller defensively and could not be stopped getting to the rim offensively. He showed why he is a high level prospect. [player_tooltip player_id='1218216' first='Jayce' last='Depron'] simply did it all Sunday in Youngsville. He was masterful from three and showed he could hit clutch shots when his team needed. His scoring was one of the top reasons his team won the team title. [player_tooltip player_id='1278991' first='Aumad' last='Hackett'] was the star, and surprise, of the day. His lead guard play and three point shooting were at a high level for someone who missed a whole season. If he plays at the level we saw Sunday for Bonnabel, they will be a serious problem. [player_tooltip player_id='1105539' first='Javon' last='Johnson'] has learned a lot at Bossier and rebounding is one of them. He was the best rebounding guard in the gym and took it to defenses in the paint. Johnson also showed that he could facilitate as well as shoot which bodes well for him going forward.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1387999' first='Lionel' last='Larvadain'] (McMain) | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1394530' first='Daijon' last='Leatherman'] (Carver | 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1277356' first='Chris' last='Leman'] (Newman| 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1218192' first='Wayne' last='Randall-Bashay'] (New Iberia | 2024)

Jayce Toliver (Southside) | 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1387999' first='Lionel' last='Larvadain'] displayed exceptional explosion to the rim for a point guard. He also displayed the ability to score from every level and played great defense on the ball. Larvadain is goig to be handful for teams this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1394530' first='Daijon' last='Leatherman'] was a load in the middle. He scored over both shoulders and was extremely hard to keep off the offensive boards. His ability to rebound is going to cause teams trouble this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1277356' first='Chris' last='Leman'] showed that he is more than just your ordinary post. Leman shot the three ball well and displayed the ability to pass from the high post and other areas on the floor. He is definitely a player that can do multiple things on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='1218192' first='Wayne' last='Randall-Bashay'] displayed the variety in his game during the Statement session. He shot the three well, ran the floor and finished on the break. Wayne also blocked shots and defended several positions which showed the multiple levels of his game. Jayce Tolliver shot the ball extremely well from deep and played good defense on the other end. If he plays to the level he did in the Statement session, Southside will have a guard that gives other teams trouble.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='1358460' first='Christopher' last='Birden'] (Newman) | 2025) [player_tooltip player_id='1543674' first='Gavin' last='Lucas'] (Bonnabel | 2026)

[player_tooltip player_id='1393932' first='Kerel' last='Dean'] (Bossier | 2025) [player_tooltip player_id='1347265' first='Jeremiah' last='Lucas'] (Bonnabel | 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1347180' first='Xavier' last='Ferguson'] (Zachary | 2025) [player_tooltip player_id='1105547' first='Jordan' last='Moore'] (Hahnville | 2024)

[player_tooltip player_id='1159181' first='Trey'dez' last='Green'] (Zachary | 2024) [player_tooltip player_id='1347260' first='Chris' last='Shiflett Jr'] (Evangel | 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1347276' first='Tate' last='McCurry'] (Catholic | 2025) [player_tooltip player_id='1479618' first='Javonte' last='Thomas'] (Pineville | 2024)

Look for all these players to participate in various showcases and college days going forward.
