This class took a hit with several top ten players opting to leave for prep schools but the class still has a good depth of talent in it. Here’s a look at the best point guards in this update.
Huff is currently one of the hottest prospects in the state as he’s earned his first two D1 offers over the weekend. Maddox is a scoring point guard who excels as a shooter but can also impact the game as a rebounder and is a good shot blocker for his position. Huff is riding a lot of momentum into his Junior season.
Highlights
Finley was also the recipient of an offer last week as D2 Cumberland out of Tennessee pulled the trigger on offering Eli. On the court, Finley is an athletic point guard who excels at getting into the paint and has a high level finishing package that includes an above average floater and runner.
Price is one of the best shooters in the state, regardless of class. A volume scorer at the PG spot, Ty has earned multiple offers this summer and is primed for a big year for Butler County. Price, like most on this list, has room for improvement as an individual defender but should be one of the best players in the 3rd region this year.
Santi had a big AAU summer and looks to continue that momentum into his Junior season for a new look Woodford County squad. Waide needs to continue improving his shot selection but there’s no reason he shouldn’t average 15+ points and 5+ assists per game as a Junior.
Often overlooked when discussing the best point guards in the class, Cayden is probably the only true pass first point on this list. Reed is a high level facilitator when he has more talent around him and often defaults to having to be more of a scorer at the high school level when he and his brother are the main scoring options. After transferring to Mason County this summer, the Reeds should have more help and Cayden can go back to the pass first PG he has shown himself to be in the past.
