Continue ReadingThe Hustle Region Classic closed out on Sunday and we dropped by West Linn to take a look at a number of games in the 17U division. Here’s who we thought made up the top performers that we saw during the day.
Mac Terry Mac Terry 6'4" | CG Rock Canyon | 2024 State CO , CP Magic 2024 (2024 Rock Canyon) – Terry might have been our MVP of the day as he put together an incredible all-around effort of 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. The rising senior guard simply let the game come to him and did a fantastic job shooting the ball as well as finding open teammates, showing a mastery of the quick touch pass.
Andre’ Austin Andre’ Austin 6'3" | CG Bismarck | 2025 State #388 Nation ND , Pack 2024 (2025 Bismarck) – Another day, another strong effort from Austin who was nearly unstoppable getting to the basket in a win over Starts with U. The rising junior didn’t just create for himself either as he found Pack’s outside shooters for opportunities and wound up with five assists to go along with his team-high 22 points.
Jordan Valencia-Alvarado, TC Elite 2024 (2023 Richland) – Big scoring binge for Valencia-Alvarado against CP Magic 2024 as the guard caught fire with his shot. The unsigned senior ended up sinking six daggers from deep, with several of them contested while the game was competitive. A tremendous rebounder for his size, he also finished with 11 rebounds.
Andrew Dearman, TC Elite 2024 (2023 Hanford) – Dearman picked his spots and did a great job of taking advantage of holes in the defense with solid face-up shooting from the mid-range on out. The unsigned senior was particularly effective on the wings and baseline on the catch and shoot, and did a good job using his solid 6-foot-4 size on the boards.
Patrick Kilfoil Patrick Kilfoil 6'0" | PG Jesuit | 2025 State OR , Players Play 16U (2025 Jesuit) – There are games where Kilfoil has it stuck on automatic and that was certainly the case in a huge win over No Fear Elite 2024-1. The lefty rising junior was raining threes from the jump, eventually hitting four, but also was able to get into the lane for some closer scores. He dished out three assists to boot.
India Mohiuddin India Mohiuddin 6'4" | SG North Eugene | 2024 State OR , Perception Athletics (2024 Sheldon) – A natural scorer, Mohiuddin can put points up on the board in bunches but against ProTech, that bunch was essentially the entire game. The rising senior wing was knocking down threes, getting out in transition for easy scores, and also creating in the halfcourt for some hard-earned buckets. He wound up with 27 points and only missed a single shot.
Chance White Chance White 6'0" | CG Roosevelt | 2024 State OR , More Than Hoops 2024 (2024 Roosevelt) – In a win over Team Progress, the statline speaks for itself – 9-for-11 from the field, 2-for-3 from three, and 9-for-10 from the line. White (pictured) was essentially unguardable on the offensive end and his ability to break down defenders and finish around the rim has played a big part in his success this spring.
RJ Alexander RJ Alexander 6'1" | CG Gresham | 2024 State OR , More Than Hoops 2024 (2024 Gresham) – Great effort in the last game of the tournament for Alexander in a win over Players Play 16U. The lefty was sharp from three – hitting 5-of-8 attempts – and wound up with a team-high 21 points. He also chipped in on the glass by grabbing seven rebounds.
