Breakdown Tip-Off: Jack’s AAAA/AAA Standouts

The freshman guard turned in 31 points, scoring in all kinds of ways. He scored from all three levels, attacking larger defenders for some tough finishes, pulling up off of the dribble in the mid-range, as well as knocking down some deep three-pointers. He did not only score though, as he also accumulated 10 rebounds and 6 assists. He was able to show off his strength and touch around the basket, backing defenders down and absorbing contact. He was also able to run in transition and convert some nice finishes at full speed. Freitag finished the tight loss with a game-high 36 points and dominated the contest offensively. The Wisconsin commit scored a game-high 18 points, knocking down several shots in the catch-and-shoot, as well as grabbing some offensive rebounds for second chance buckets. He finished the huge win with 11 rebounds and picked up 4 blocks as well. He is so confident with the ball in hands and his shooting stroke is one of the smoothest I have ever seen. The junior guard was never the biggest player on the floor, but impacted the game in so many ways for his team. He came away with some important steals and was even able to show off his athleticism with a fast break dunk in the second half. Stewart had some other impressive finishes at the rim, rising up over larger defenders or relying on a floater further away from the basket. He scored 23 points after coming off of a 33 point performance last week. He is one of the top shooters in this sophomore class and connected with several three-pointers from the corner. He also attacked the rim with no fear, drawing contact from defenders and getting to the line. It has been evident this season that Smith has taken that next step as a scorer. He scored 17 points with those baskets coming from all three levels as he knocked down multiple three-pointers and mid-range shots, along with some drives to the baskets and a pair of dunks that gave his team the momentum. He is a necessary piece for any great team with the edge and fire he brings when he is on the floor. The sophomore guard hit several shots late in the game when his team needed it, keeping the Jaguars in the game until the very end. He ended the game with 13 points, stepping up when called upon. He also served as a lead ball handler and helped bring the ball up the floor at times.
