The beat rolls on at Wisconsin Lutheran, despite losing a pair of stellar seniors off last year’s 30-0 squad in Kon Knueppel (Duke) and Logan Rindfleisch (UW-Oshkosh). The Vikings have now won 38 games in a row dating back to last season and are 8-0 in 2024-25, thanks in large part to the strong play of Mellock. A physically strong and aggressive combination guard, Mellock played a superb game in helping the Vikings turn back a rebuilding Marquette squad. Mellock finished with 18 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal as Wisconsin Lutheran ran away early from the Hilltoppers in a matchup of defending Division 1 and Division 2 state champions. Mellock is uncommitted for next season at this point, but he is a definite college player as he can score from deep and off the dribble while also playing solid defense on the perimeter. He is a key cog in another quality team for coach Ryan Walz at Wisconsin Lutheran.

as returning starters for coach Ryan Walz, who enters his 17th year as the head coach at the school with a 314-96 record. Mellock averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds, and provided physical and mental toughness to the Vikings’ lineup in each and every game. Mellock can score with his physical strength on drives and cuts to the hoop, and also is an improving his perimeter shooting. On defense, Mellock is a demon because of his versatility, toughness and willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team get a victory.

Isaiah looks ready to step into a big role for Wisconsin Lutheran as he looks to keep them state title contenders. He looked comfortable playing either guard spot, while providing an explosive scoring option. He’s a bouncy athlete, with the quick burst to blow by his man and get into the paint to finish. So good at lulling his man to sleep and then quickly accelerating to get downhill. Utilizes his quickness well on the defensive end to pressure the ball, and he’s not afraid to get on the floor for a loose ball.
