Evans, a wing out of the Northfield Mount Hermon School, definitely helped himself out with his play last weekend, showing off some impressive two-way versatility. He does a nice job of using his length as a finisher, showing the ability to go by defenders as a straight-line driver or to get to the rim as an off-ball cutter. He’s a high level two-way rebounder and versatile defender that does a nice job of making plays in passing lanes and of keeping opposing ball-handlers out of the paint on the perimeter.

Evans, #102 overall and #26 among the small forwards, is a high level athlete that uses his athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. A gifted defender, he makes plays on the ball and in passing lanes, using his quickness to his advantage to turn turnovers into transition offense. He’s a grab and go rebounder that uses his length as a finisher around the rim and his quick burst to get by the intial defender in the half-court. He has some wiggle with the ball in his hands and some shot creation ability too. On top of that, he’s done a nice job of developing his perimeter shooting over the last year. He’s drawn interest at the scholarship level and has a chance to improve his stock further this season at Northfield Mount Hermon.

Read EvaluationAndrew Herman | Prep Hoops Scout
Evans is a dominant inside player who likes to seek contact when going to the rim. The 6’6″ small forward is averaging a near double-double on the season with over 10 ppg and just over 9 rebounds per game. He crashes the glass like a center and has excellent timing on offensive putbacks. His soft touch around the rim allows him to get his shots off of anyone in his way and he can put a little finesse on his layups making it very difficult to block. His three-point shot is consistent and will knock it down if given the open space.

He crashes the glass at will and can jump over taller players boxing him out to secure rebounds. He has a soft touch around the rim and can finish with ease over smaller players trying to trip the ball away from him. Evans can step out to the three-point line every once in a awhile and will make defenses pay if he is left wide open.
