The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop 3 is a big one, as the circuit pulls up in Kansas City for the NCAA Certified Prephoops Live Event. The event featured a high level of floor generals. In this article, we take a look at some of the top Point Guards from the event.
Alan Acevedo Alan Acevedo 6'2" | CG Colorado Prep | 2023 State CO 6’2 PG Colorado Titans 2023 (#13PHC 2023) – Acevado is a neck-up guy with good size for the position. He’ll make the right decision for his team, but he has no problem scoring the basketball as well. His size matters, at 6’2 he posted up smaller PGs and showed the ability to score around the basket.
Devon Woods Devon Woods 5'10" | PG Pike | 2023 State IN 5’10 PG EG10 2023 – Woods is a jitterbug PG with playmaking ability. He’s a good two-way player with the ability to defend both backcourt spots. He played with good poise and showed the ability to both distribute and score the basketball when needed.
Danny Mcdonald 5’11 PG BTI 2023 – I really enjoyed watching Mcdonald play. The Jitterbug PG was good at getting to his spot and scoring. His spot happened to be right at the 15-foot spot in the middle of the lane, and he made sure to be efficient when he go there. Mcdonald was able to pull up and knock down a high percentage of jumpers for his squad.
Kaiden Peters 6’1 PG Minnesota Lightning 2023 – Peters flashed some major wiggle with his game. He’s a shooter, but it was his wiggle that freed him. The PG showed a good handle with both hands, allowing him to get by defenders and create. He probably could have scored the ball more, but his floor generalship helped as he was part of a trio of Lightning sharpshooters.
Uriyah Tennete 6’0 PG D1 New Mexico 2025 – The lefty showed good floor game. Tennete is a floor general that does whatever’s necessary to help his squad win. He defended opposing PGs when D1 played man to man and orchestrated the offense. The pass-first PG showed some high-level leadership skills this weekend.
Ahmere Carson Ahmere Carson 6'2" | PG Anderson | 2023 State IN 6’2 PG EG10 2023 – I don’t know what to make of Carson, is he a PG, a combo, or a wing. Whatever you want to call him, the big guard is highly skilled and made plays all week. Carson is a player that helps his team win. He was able to score in transition and create for himself and teammates. The cerebral guard was a unique playmaker that helped EG10 to a couple of victories this weekend.
Donaven Davis 6’1 PG Dallas Showtyme 2023 – Davis plays for the right team because he has some Showtyme in his game. The lefty is a smooth PG that has some wiggle. I liked his ability to change pace, get to his spot, and score. His best skill was his ability to handle the ball against pressure.
Darrell Mckinney 6’0 PG KC Spurs 2025 – The best way to describe Mckinney is solid. The PG made correct decision after correct decision for his squad, getting good looks for his team. He also defended his position well, using quick feet and hands to disrupt opposing ballhandlers.
