5th REGION BREAKDOWN
Adair County – Currently riding a 18 game winning streak and an overall record at 25-1 (17-0 in the region), the Indians look to be a region favorite at this point in time. Their only loss coming to 8th region contender Collins, Adair is beating teams at a “blow out” rate (their last game against Russell County? 69-33). The Indians are led by senior guard Kel Stotts (21.3 ppg) and junior guard Corey Melton (18 ppg).
Bardstown- Bardstown is led by senior guard Kel Livers (16 ppg) and senior teammate Santrel Farmer (16.4 ppg). Having won 15 out of their last 17 games, the Tigers are undefeated against region foes and 20-6 overall.
North Hardin – 21-7 and 9-2 in the region, North Hardin is led by Mr. Basketball candidate Tony Jackson (20 points and 6 rebounds). Key wins for the Trojans include out of region victories against Bryan Station, Fairdale, and Mercer County. Need to prove they can win against the regions best.
6th REGION BREAKDOWN
Fern Creek – 10-0 in the region and 27-2 overall, Fern Creek is currently riding a 13 game winning streak going into their final two games of the season. Led by senior wing Chance Moore (17 points and 5 rebounds), look for Fern Creek to make some noise. Their only two loses of the year came to state contender Trinity (3 point loss) and Hopkinsville.
Bullitt East – The Chargers are 20-8, 7-2 in the region and haven’t lost back-to-back games all season. Jared Osborne 15.4 ppg and a complete stat stuffer) and Luke Ezell (14.7 ppg) lead Bullitt East into their final game against Jeffersontown, who they beat earlier in the season.
Doss – Never, ever count out Doss. Led by senior guard and Wright State commit, Jaylen Hall, Coach Tony Williams also has the Dragons capable of beating anyone come district and region time. 17-10 overall and 7-3 in the region, keep an eye on a possible return to Rupp Arena for Doss.
