Jordan Akal Jordan Akal 6'1" | PG Harlan | 2022 State KY , Harlan – One of the most explosive scorers in the state, Akal is capable of scoring 15-20 points in a quarter if you let him get hot. As a Sophomore, Jordan averaged just shy of 26 points per game and could end up averaging over 30 per game in his Junior season. Tennessee Tech has already offered Akal and more could be on the way.
Justin Becker Justin Becker 6'6" | SF Robertson County | 2022 State KY , Robertson County – The only forward on this list, Becker is a true inside-out threat and scores very efficiently. As a Sophomore, Justin averaged 25 points per contest while shooting 61% overall and 36% from three. Becker also lived on the free throw line, making 6 per game and shooting 78% from the charity stripe.
Colby Fugate Colby Fugate 6'3" | SF Paintsville | 2022 State KY , Paintsville – One of the top players in the mountains, Colby has several years of varsity experience under his belt already and led the Tigers in scoring this past season. Putting up 22 points per game as Sophomore, Colby can get to the rim or score in the midrange and his numbers can go up even more if he improves his three point shooting as a Junior.
Tanner Walton Tanner Walton 6'3" | CG Lexington Christian | 2022 State KY , Lexington Christian – Tanner did a little bit of everything for LCA last season, leading them in nearly every statistical category. On the offensive end of the floor, Walton scored 22 per game while putting up impressive shooting splits of 58/49/77. Tanner is more of a driver than a shooter but 49% from three is going to keep defenses honest.
Jerone Morton Jerone Morton 6'3" | SG George Rogers Clark | 2023 State KY , George Rogers Clark – Capable of playing either guard spot, Morton is a smooth lefty who can get to the rim or get into the paint and facilitate for others. Jerone is a capable shooter from three but needs to improve his percentages from the 31% he shot as a Sophomore to be considered a “shooter”.
Kason Hinson Kason Hinson 6'2" | SG Augusta | 2022 State KY , Augusta – Hinson is like Morton in a lot of ways. Kason scored 18 points per game but needs to become a more consistent shooter from range to improve his overall game after shooting 30% from three as a Sophomore. Hinson can get in the lane and finish and makes 80% of his free throws when he gets to the line.
Cole Villers Cole Villers 6'2" | SG Ashland Blazer | 2022 State KY , Ashland – The Ashland offense is basically the Houston Rockets where everything is drive and kick for threes. Villers led the Tomcats in scoring at 17 per game last year and put up 46/39/83 shooting splits. Primarily a catch and shoot wing, Villers can also put the ball on the floor and attack the rim.
