The City of Mine Preseason Invitational has emerged as the premier preseason "tournament" in the New York City area. With week 3 on the docket, teams were fighting to improve their odds of playing for the championship. Here's forwards who stood out on Saturday

Barry has a very legitimate claim to being the top big in the CHSAA this season and for good reason. He has soft touch around the basket and took advantage of his size advantage against Jefferson. The big man is also dangerous in P&R and DHO scenarios with lead guard [player_tooltip player_id='2780680' first='Brice' last='Yancey'], and the two clearly have great chemistry. Throw in Barry's ability to space the floor as a shooter (he made at least 3 vs the Orange Wave) and it's easy to see how he can help the Hayesmen to a potential CHSAA crown.

White was an absolute force on the glass, snatching up rebounds with relative ease. The hard playing forwards was particularly effective on the offensive glass- scoring a majority of his baskets on put-backs. He also moved well off the ball and was found as a cutter going to the basket on numerous occasions. The Terriers are CHSAA title contenders in their own right, and White has a big role to play in that campaign.

Recently named the top player in New York's 2028 class, Wilson's inside-out scoring ability was on display against Eagle Brooklyn. The Queens forward was nearly impossible to keep off the glass and showcased good footwork and finishing with his back to the basket. He continues to add to his range and repertoire as a shooter. If he adds that consistently to his already productive game. Look out.

A transfer in from Brooklyn Friends, Nicholson appears the most versatile over three 6-foot-6+ transfers who all played meaningful minutes for the Brooklyn powerhouse. Defensively, he blocked shots and competed on the glass, while offensively he spaced the floor as a shooter or scored at the rim in transition. A younger member of the class of 2027 with upside, it wouldn't be a shock to see him in the prep ranks next season.

Bedri took advantage of his size, scoring at the rim with authority early and then showcasing his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. The Grand River Academy transfer made an impact on the offensive side o the ball while also acting as a rim deterrent. He will be a difference maker in CHSAA play and a name colleges are going to want to monitor in the coming years.

George had some highlight reel finishes at the rim and gets off the floor quickly overall. The 6-foot-6 forward embraces physicality and set several hard screens to free his guards. With a plus wingspan and high motor, Ugoagbala also provides more value as a rim protector than his size might suggest.
