Repeating myself again but Paytin burst onto the scene quickly establishing himself as a top post presence in the CHSAA. He gains post position using his size and strength.
Finishes with power inside, very capable of hitting the three. Really good range for the big man. In games I’ve seen him in he showed the ability to hit face up jumpers at a high rate with a soft touch. Big time potential and upside for the resurgent Holy Cross squad.

The big man is a player you need on your radar if he’s not already. Excellent in gaining position and scoring with power inside. Possesses nice footwork showing off a turn around jumper. Can knock down open threes. I was impressed with the big man’s ability and awareness to find the open area to nail jump shots. A physical presence on both ends with rebounding and interior play.

The most productive underclassman in the league over the past two years, Wilson continued the trend with a versatile impact throughout the Holy Cross win. A modern inside-out forward, he finished with a workmanlike 16 points to go with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Wilson looks to have added some height to his frame since the start of the season and was consistently imposing his will around the basket with his blend of length, athleticism, and skill. He cashed in effectively from the foul line and showed impressive glimpses of his expanding arsenal attacking off the dribble from the perimeter. Wilson strikes a strong balance between current production and long-term upside, making him one of the state’s most appealing prospects.

In this game we witnessed three underclassman 6”9 and over. A battle between the three will be interesting to follow. Payton showed his overall game. He can stretch the floor and hit the open three, showed a nice turn around fade away jumper and finishes inside with power. Another young player that understands the importance of getting defender on his back gaining post position and scoring. Moves really well without the ball not a stagnet 4-5.

Wilson is a crafty guard who knows how to manipulate defenders and create space for himself. He consistently gets to his spots and looks comfortable operating from all areas of the floor. As a true three-level scorer, he can finish at the rim, hit pull-ups in the midrange, and knock down shots from deep. His change of pace keeps defenders guessing and opens up clean scoring windows. He shows strong body control when attacking traffic and can adjust midair to finish plays. Off the dribble, he plays with confidence and poise, rarely forcing bad looks. With his scoring versatility and feel, he’s a tough cover for opposing guards.

with the above mentioned Devin along with Payton the Holy Cross squad has a bright future. Expect this young man to see his name along with Devin on this list much higher in the coming years. He has great size and is full of potential. Uses his size to score inside. Does a good job learning feed angles to catch the ball. A defensive presence in the lane. Outstanding rebounder on both ends.

-Wilson had really dynamic athletic flashes throughout an entertaining game against Georgetown Prep with both teams coming off a loss and looking to end the weekend on a positive note. Fought hard throughout the game against a 7′ P5 commit and showed the aggression/feel to get around the big to deny post entries or deflect a ball out of bounds to negate the post position that his matchup gained–that type of IQ is not something you typically see from a big this young. Wilson hit a 3, scored on a bump n fade in the paint, high-pointed a block near the rim, and didn’t stop playing hard throughout the game. His motor and IQ combined with the physical tools spell a bright future if his development continues on the same trajectory.

The most productive freshman in the CHSAA last season, Wilson posted the most dominant individual effort of the night with an emphatic 27-point double-double. An active faceup forward, he wreaked havoc inside using his length, quick jumps, and innate nose for the ball to haul in rebounds and efficiently deposit buckets near the rim en route to 11-for-14 shooting on the night. Wilson was unstoppable getting to his turnaround jumper in the midpost and also flashed an expanding perimeter skillset while splitting a pair of attempts from beyond the arc. Buoyed by a standout physical profile and nonstop motor, Wilson shows impressive ability to stick to his strengths while also making the necessary additions to his toolbox as he prepares to transition to the mid-to-high major level when the time comes.

His potential was through the roof, and his development had already drawn interest from numerous Division I coaches. He demonstrated strong catch-and-finish ability, including a quick inbound catch followed by a sharp assist for a layup. He was active on the offensive glass, converting rebounds into putbacks, and showed solid verticality on defense. Off the ball, his movement was purposeful, and he delivered an accurate high-low pass that led to an easy dunk. Even when the game turned physical, he maintained his composure and made smart adjustments, showcasing maturity and resilience.
