He is averaging 4.9 assists per game in the EYCL 17U division, ranking 6th overall. He’s a natural floor general, always poised and composed beyond his years. I’ve evaluated him for several seasons and have never seen him rattled. Coaches consistently trust him to run the team, confidently putting the ball in his hands as a leader. 

A true point guard. Very steady poised lefty player. Does not get sped up. Very comfortable running the offense. Extremely quick getting into the lane. Blow by speed can finish with either hand. Jumps passing passing lanes with quickness and instincts.

Crawford is a lethal scorer who puts constant pressure on the defense with his quickness and attacking mindset. He consistently gets downhill, using his speed and burst to beat defenders off the dribble and finish or draw help. A recent 20-point outing highlighted his ability to take over stretches of a game. Crawford’s confidence as a scorer continues to grow with each performance. He’s showing clear improvement in his decision-making and shot selection. As his game rounds out, he’s becoming harder to scheme against. Crawford’s upward trajectory makes him a name to keep an eye on moving forward.

A fixture at the helm of the Holy Cross lineup since his freshman year, Crawford is back leading the Knights once again and was up to his usual tricks while steering a season-opening win over host Archbishop Ryan. It was a typical performance for those accustomed to Crawford’s game over the years, as the senior lead guard showed his blend of aggression and natural craft while weaving through traffic off the bounce. He was effective making plays both for himself and teammates, really helping create separation on the scoreboard with his passing ability off penetration. Crawford should cement himself as a scholarship-level guard this winter with the Knights looking positioned to make a move up the standings behind their senior floor general and a talented younger core.

He’s a solid point guard with strong penetration ability and excellent court vision that led to easy layups. He showed quality feel and timing on inbound plays, consistently delivered accurate passes for finishes at the rim. He demonstrated high level court vision and passing instincts, making unselfish decisions and showing patience on drives. Twice he made smart extra passes, using his left hand effectively to get downhill. Throughout he maintained great balance and poise, always appearing be in control on the floor.

He’s a steady, experienced left-handed point guard who plays with maturity and poise. An unselfish teammate, he commits on the defensive end and finishes effectively with both hands. He excels at controlling tempo and settling his team, truly an extension of the coach on the floor.

(Pictured) Has 4 years of varsity ball this season. So the experience and confidence is a tremendous attribute he has. To go along with a really good skill set. Shoots the ball really well on the move. Handles the ball with quickness. A lefty who can go either way. Finishes inside through contact. Not afraid to get in the lane amongst the bigger bodies. Has a good feel for the game. He knows when to attack or when to settle it down and get a good shot.

The experienced floor general for Holy Cross, Crawford put up an admirable fight against a stacked Stepinac lineup that helped keep the Knights in the game for much of the way. He put consistent pressure on the Crusader defense with his polish and craft off the dribble, working into the midrange and to the rim where he showed off his footwork and dexterity as a finisher among the trees. Crawford also converted two 3s (a 4-point play and a buzzer-beater at the half) that established some of the only Holy Cross momentum of the game. Already on scholarship radars, decisionmaking and shooting consistency are likely to be the deciding factors for D1 coaches waiting to pull the trigger on the southpaw.

Jahzir is a heady and crafty lefty PG. Jahzir has the heart of the lion on the court and he will not back down from any opponent. Jahzir competes on every play and he is a coaches a dream. He runs the team and is always under control. He is a strong driver and makes the right play at the right time. Keep an eye out for him because his name will will be mentioned among the lead guards in NYC for the next 2 years.
