Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A 2026 grad playing as an unsigned senior, Webb stood out with his ability to score working off Diaz. Scoring off a baseline cut and a backdoor cut, Webb has the length and quickness to finish at the rim before rim protectors could rotate over to contest. Add in Webb knocking down a corner 3-pointer and throwing down an alley-oop dunk and he had a nice mix of highlight plays and little actions that caught my eye. Webb impacted winning for one of two teams to go 3-0 this weekend at the 17 U level.

Talk about bursting onto the scene that is what Javan did. A very versatile scorer. Really good size. Can drill the perimeter jumper. Strong and physical finishing at the rim off the catch or bounce. Plays above the rim. A rim runner. Outstanding rebounder and rim protector with his ability to swoop in to block shots.

Consistently puts himself in good spots on the floor to capitalize on second-chance opportunities. Shows the ability to roll effectively to the rim and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. The lefty displays flashes of being able to space the floor, with a smooth, confident release when he lets it fly. I like his ability to present mismatch problems for opposing defenses.

Leading the charge for a mostly younger Scanlan group in an upset win over Christ the King, Webb put on an impressive display of his two-way versatility as a Swiss-army forward. He stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of 14 points, 13 boards, 4 assists, and a pair of steals while playing with consistent toughness and energy on both ends of the floor. Webb was effective running the floor in transition to create early offense for both himself and his teammates, and battled defensively as part of an undersized frontcourt that relies heavily on his motor and athleticism on the back line. His shooting is the potential cherry on top, though he didn’t convert any of his 3 tries on the afternoon. Webb remains one of the more versatile and athletic forwards on the board for D1 programs to take a look at this spring.

Webb is a tough NYC guard who plays with an edge and relentless downhill pressure. He uses shifty footwork and quick bursts to get past defenders and into the paint. Once inside, he can finish through traffic or adjust midair to avoid shot blockers. His vision stands out, consistently finding teammates when the defense collapses. Webb balances scoring and playmaking, knowing when to attack and when to facilitate. He processes the game at a high level, making smart reads in tight windows. With his toughness, IQ, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways, he’s a guard opponents struggle to contain.

Playing against a talented LuHi team, Javan played well and showed no signs of worry. The lefty knocked down a three from the right wing off the bounce, followed by a long three from the top of the key. He managed to get downhill and spin back to his right, finishing with a layup. He demonstrated the ability to finish with both hands when driving downhill. He also took a charge, sacrificing his body, which highlighted his grit and willingness to help his team.
