The big man in the middle is getting a lot of attention. Deservingly so. He showed that he can hit the open three off the catch. Giving him the added dimension to his game. Scores around the rim with force and skill. Can get to the rim off of 2-3 dribbles using his size. Outstanding rebounder on both ends of the floor.

Continuing a breakout junior season, Barry put on an impressive display of inside-out skill while stuffing the stat sheet to help steer Hayes to the win. Taking advantage of an undersized opposing frontcourt, he used his size and heft to set up shop inside and impose his will, finishing with a blend of touch and power around the rim off both dumpoffs and postup looks. He flashed his shooting stroke from the perimeter and really stood out with his passing acumen and ball skills at his size. Barry showed a commitment to the dirty work as well, hauling in nine boards and using his quick hands to make plays defensively. He’ll need to improve on his ball security and continue to be extremely conscious of his conditioning, but Barry is clearly trending up as a D1 frontcourt target with upside if he can further reshape his body over time.

Stepping up as a key secondary scorer as the only true frontcourt presence in Hayes’ lineup, Barry was effective in punishing a smaller Scanlan rotation with his blend of size and skill. He thrived as both a scoring and playmaking hub from all over the floor, whether the block, the high post, or playing out of pick-and-pops. Barry displayed soft hands and finishing touch to the tune of 17 points, also posing a shooting threat out to the perimeter. While not the most effective as a rim protector, he showed the ability to carve out space effectively to rebound his area. Barry will have to continue focusing on his conditioning moving forward but shows clear D1 potential as evidenced by a postgame offer from Quinnipiac.
