October 1-3 I attended the annual Border League. It is quickly becoming one of the premier fall events not only on the West Coast but in the country. The amount of elite players that were a part of the event was off the charts. And of course college coaches follow all the talent with them taking in the action nearly wall to wall standing room only games on some courts.

Here were the top CG's who shined when I viewed them

[player_tooltip player_id='2288469' first='Jalen' last='Brown'] Sequoia Prep

The Wisconsin commit had some special moments this weekend. He is a big time scorer, athlete but he is actually an incredible passer. He sees over the top of the defense and threads the needle. He will defend the top player on most teams and score with threes, high level dunks and mid-range pull-ups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] Millennium

The top guard in the AIA and one of the top guards in the country has a lot on his plate this season. He scores it with mid-range pull-ups off the dribble over the outstretched defenders, threes with range and tries setting up his teammates with drive and kicks. He will also defend multiple positions and rebounding plus blocking shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532089' first='Darren' last='Ford'] AZ Compass Prep EYBL

A strong framed combo guard has natural strength, easy bounce and real skill level. He will hit threes off the catch or pull-up from mid to the three and go down the lane and dunk it easily. He uses his stocky frame, quicker feet and length to keep his opponents in front of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='3790719' first='Vince' last='Gaspar'] Dream City Christian EYBL

A scoring combo lead guard can handle some ball pressure plus score it. The newcomer can shoot it from the three point line, he is very aggressive to the basket with a decent handle and smartly changes speeds to get downhill. He can use the floater game and handle a little contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140825' first='Jimmie' last='Haywood III'] AZ Compass Prep EYBL

A bigger guard can play on or off the ball. He gets a lot of opportunities playing next to multiple point guards and led them in scoring a couple games but he is typically the 3rd senior option. He will score with dunks on the break, pull-ups or off the catch threes, mid-range jumpers and tough takes off the bounce. He will also make a play for a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha

An undersized combo guard who can play on or off the ball. He is a walking bucket and was super steady all weekend long with off the dribble threes, mid-range pull-ups and he can slither by his defenders with a sharp burst and score with some toughness in traffic. He can also make plays for his teammates and is tough on the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464983' first='Mick' last='Riordan'] Dream City Christian (Pictured)

One of the top senior shooters in the class from the three point line. The ball rotates perfectly like it should and he is off the ball moving to get open. He will dribble drive to the basket and he is sneaky long and athletic to throw it down. He plays the passing lanes to collect steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2280210' first='Josh' last='Stewart'] Mesa

Another guard on the team who has benefited from a couple guards transferring out is Stewart. He is an elite catch and shoot three point type who had it rolling on day two of the Border League when I viewed them play. He will rattle in triples in style and the senior guard should have a big season.
