October 1-3 I attended the annual Border League. It is quickly becoming one of the premier fall events not only on the West Coast but in the country. The amount of elite players that were a part of the event was off the charts. And of course college coaches follow all the talent with them taking in the action nearly wall to wall standing room only games on some courts.

Here were the top SG's who shined when I viewed them

[player_tooltip player_id='1986797' first='Jase' last='Benjamin'] San Tan Charter

A strong and tough guard who keeps on shining this fall. He is scoring while defending multiple positions and making plays for his teammates. He is a very unselfish player finding his shooters in stride. He will score with threes, dunks down the lane and mid-range pull-ups.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466364' first='Gabe' last='Coronado'] Millennium

A scoring guard is the team's true floor spacer. He has good size and will move without the ball and squares up super quick and gets the ball out of his hands in a blink of an eye and comes with real confidence from the three point line. Once the first one goes in, the next one will most likely go up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146239' first='Carsyn' last='Dean'] JKP Academy Prep

A bigger combo scoring guard can play on or off the ball. He can handle it like a lead guard and make players around him better but will also come in firing away. He has a nice shooting stroke from the three point line off the catch or pull and will shoot it from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='3574605' first='Isaiah' last='King'] Basha

One of the rare freshmen to get some playing time in high level games in the AIA. He comes in and will defend multiple positions and he can also play a few positions. He will score with downhill drives, transition buckets and mid-range pull-ups.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard'] Basha

A true two-way guard or wing forward who seems to defend every position. He is a high wire act on the break and will go baseline and flush it down way above the rim. He will score with mid-range fall aways, threes off the catch or pull, downhill drives with his dominant left hand and will pull-up off the dribble from both perimeter spots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2724511' first='Cole' last='Meurer'] Ironwood (Pictured)

A long bigger guard who probably grew a legit two inches since my last viewing of him. He can do multiple things to affect a game. He gets downhill, he can shoot the three, uses the floater game and defends multiple positions with his size plus rebounds well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956217' first='PJ' last='Nowlin Jr'] Canyon View

A good sized scoring guard will rattle in triples off the catch or off the dribble. His confidence seems to grow each tournament or event with a quicker trigger. He can also pull-up from mid-range, drive the lane and finish it off with floaters. He rebounds well and will defend nearly every position on the floor. He is truly turning into a 3 and D college prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552772' first='Tre' last='Terry'] Basha

A bigger scoring guard is your classic 3 and D type. He plays within the flow of the offense and you rarely see him take a bad shot. He will hit the three off the catch, pull-up from mid-range and get to the basket. He is very good on the break and will flush it down. He has quick hands on defense to get deflections, steals and keeps his man in front of him.
