Sophomore ID Camp: Team 4 Prospect Breakdown

The 2029 class gathered in Aurora two weeks ago for the Sophomore ID Camp, giving us another look at the group as the upcoming season approaches. With the Team 3 evaluation in the books, we're now turning our attention to Team 4 and highlighting the players who made an impression.    Favorable defensive versatility and communication throughout, doing a nice job navigating ball screens with the ability to hedge and switch when needed. His physicality stood out on the interior, where he competed on the glass and held his own around the basket. Offensively, showed some comfort playing with his back to the basket, using his strength and footwork to create space and finish.     Versatile skill set as a stretch forward who can space the floor and fill perimeter spots. His biggest impact came on the glass, where he played with physicality, pursued rebounds in traffic, and consistently looked to make plays for second chances. Showed a quick burst to the offensive glass and a good understanding of how to keep the ball high for quick finishes. Defensively, his longer frame and quicker feet allowed him to stay in front of drivers and disrupt their path. Also showed some ability to attack closeouts with a shot fake and drive.     Showed playmaking feel and unselfishness with the ball. Did a nice job attacking closeouts and creating opportunities for others, consistently making the extra pass and finding open shooters.     Santos's defensive energy and ability to apply pressure on the ball was a highlight for him on the floor. Active hands and quick reactions allowed him to create disruption, while he also showed some ability to attack from the triple-threat position and create deep range looks.     A good feel on both ends of the floor, particularly with his positioning and defensive awareness. Did a nice job recognizing when to switch and using his body to clear out and rebound, while also handling the ball, sharing it, and making good decisions offensively. Attacked well off the catch and consistently looked to get paint touches shrinking defenses.     Showed a willingness to attack closeouts and put pressure on the paint. Liked his physicality when getting downhill, as he did a good job using his body to create space and finish through contact. Stayed composed around the rim and showed good balance and body control as a finisher or drawing fouls.     A strong combination of athleticism and transition ability. Did a nice job securing rebounds and getting out in the open floor, where his change of direction and acceleration allowed him to quickly take advantage of openings. Played with a good burst when attacking downhill and consistently put pressure on the rim. His bounce also stood out around the basket, showing the ability to adjust in the air and finish above the rim.     Played with defensive awareness and vision, keeping a feel for both his man and the ball. Did a nice job staying connected defensively and recognizing when to get a body on his opponent. His positioning and willingness to box out helped him contribute on the glass and finish possessions with rebounds.     Has a foundation of fundamentals on both ends of the floor. Offensively, did a nice job finding soft spots in the paint, using his body to create space around the basket and showing good touch as a finisher. Also showed some feel in ball-screen situations and cutting without the ball. Defensively, played with good discipline and footwork, sliding well with drives and applying solid ball pressure. His defensive rebounding was a plus, consistently securing the ball and helping finish possessions.     Brought a strong presence on the glass, consistently using his length and athleticism to rebound on the defensive end. Showed the ability to make plays without the ball as a cutter and displayed some passing feel, while also knocking down three point looks from the corner. His athleticism gives him a clear advantage at times, and there were flashes of a higher level of play, though he could be sporadic in his overall impact which will clean up with playing experience.
