A strong combination of athleticism and transition ability. Did a nice job securing rebounds and getting out in the open floor, where his change of direction and acceleration allowed him to quickly take advantage of openings. Played with a good burst when attacking downhill and consistently put pressure on the rim. His bounce also stood out around the basket, showing the ability to adjust in the air and finish above the rim.

Olingou played very unselfishly, passing the ball off to open teammates and serving as a facilitator for his team. While he didn’t stuff the stat sheet at the beginning of play, toward the end of the game, he said “forget me not” and hit a soaring three point shot, short jumper, and drove to the hoop for a scoop and score on back-to-back-to-back possessions. His ability to get hot while also looking out for his teammates is what lands him on this list.

Olingou created mismatches with his size, athleticism, and ability to play at different speeds. He was a foot ahead of most of the players at the showcase. The lefty showed a smooth handle and quickly pushed for pace in the open floor. His plus bounce stood out multiple times with a breakaway dunk while also attacking the glass consistently between defenders. From the guard position, Olingou sees over the top of defenses and will draw a lot of help when attacking the basket.

A flashy combination of size and athleticism, Olingou’s skill and frame points to long-term upside. He projects as a textbook wing as he will only continue to grow and provide more mature skills. His ball handling and court vision are worthy assets that will grab attention. Olingous’ ability to push the ball in transition and make the right reads provides consistent efficient scoring opportunities. In the ½ court setting he comes off ball screens with purpose and will move without the ball intentionally as well. His outside shooting game is a department to keep track of as he can get going in rhythm with a fundamental release. Defensively Olingou can present challenges because of his length and activity level to disrupt smaller opposing guards. The ceiling should continue to rise for the Lincoln Park product.

An incredibly underrated player on 2029 that caught my attention with an explosive transition dunk in the second half of Lincoln Park’s game against R-B. Listed as a 6’4″ point guard right now but probably most suited as a wing long-term because he should probably grow a bit more. But the upside is there. 

Olingou showed good size and a skill set for his age group. His ball-handling skills promptly stood out. He took the ball end to end while dribbling through defenders. He dribbled behind his back and crossed over the defense. Lucas also displayed a scorer’s touch, knocking down 3 three-pointers near the end of the game.

Longer guard that utilizes length to advantage on both sides. Initiates offense off rebounds with court vision. Comes off ball screens hard to drive into openings and sees what is available. Attacks downhill with purpose. Can step back for a three in rhythm. Cuts off the ball and moves efficiently as well. Defensively is active on the ball to disrupt flow. Can convert through contact for and1’s. High energy with positive activity.
