Some Caveman Fall League Notables Week 1

Writing   Federico put on a three-point barrage, connecting on his fair share of shots from the perimeter. He has a high release point on his jumper, allowing him to shoot over defenders, and he found ways to score from a variety of spots throughout the day. Federico's herky-jerky movements make him difficult to contain, and he was also able to create scoring opportunities off the bounce. His willingness to rebound was evident throughout the day, as he used his length to collect boards and alter shots defensively. Federico made plenty of hustle plays and glides through the air on his way to the rim, showing that he has no issue playing above the rim. I would like to see him continue improving his strength and become a more consistent finisher in and around crowds. With his scoring versatility, length, and athletic tools, it is only a matter of time before more high-major programs get involved in his recruitment.     Federico looked like a veteran out there and showed that he belonged on the floor. He plays a physical style of basketball and thrives when touching the paint on the attack, often bull-rushing his way to the hoop. Federico frequently made the most of second-chance scoring opportunities and showed flashes from behind the arc. He is a ballhawk who always seems to find himself in good spots to make plays, and I liked how he was able to create opportunities for his teammates with his passing. I would like to see Federico play off two feet more and utilize jump stops when attacking, as that should help the game slow down and become easier for him. I'm looking forward to watching his high school career unfold over the next four seasons.     Johnson looked good with his new squad at Sharon. He is able to play on or off the basketball and does a nice job making plays for others. Johnson connected on several three-pointers throughout the game I saw and cannot be left open, or he will make defenses pay. He also found himself in good spots on the floor to come down with rebounds. I like how slippery he is when attacking and the way he can create advantages off the bounce. I think this move to Sharon will help his game blossom to another level.     Walter connected on a few early three-pointers and quickly found his groove from behind the arc. He can be difficult to contain once he gets going and does a nice job creating scoring opportunities off the bounce. I like his ability to play either guard spot and consistently make plays for others at a high clip. Walter also has no issues making hustle plays and finding ways to impact the game in multiple areas. He continues to put together a strong late summer, showing that his production translates across different settings. Local small-college programs should be prioritizing him.     Abrahams is a stretch four who connected on his fair share of three-pointers throughout the day. He also showed the ability to find teammates and create scoring opportunities for others. I would like to see him improve his efficiency this upcoming season, as that should help take his offensive game to another level. Local Division III programs looking to add shooting to their frontcourt should have Abrahams on their big boards.
