Regional Recruiting Update — Delp Picks Up First Offer, More

With the fall season getting closer, let's take a look at some of those names and what these opportunities mean for them as they continue to take the next steps in their recruiting journeys.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2820798' first='Emmett' last='Delp'] | 6'7" Wing | St. John</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Delp has picked up his first offer, coming from Northwest Missouri State. The 6'7" wing has plenty of upside and has benefited from playing alongside a lot of talented players this summer. With his size, skill set, and continued development, I expect other regional Division II programs to come calling as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1974549' first='Jackson' last='Bruce'] | 6'3" Wing | Spring Hill</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bruce has added another offer, this time from Hastings, creating more opportunities for him to play at the next level. With his continued development and the opportunities he has put himself in position to receive, I expect him to continue gaining more interest throughout the fall and winter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='3587250' first='Justinn' last='Doby'] | 6'2" Guard | Topeka West</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Doby has picked up his first offer from Saint Mary. He was at his best this summer as a slasher, consistently getting to the rim and putting pressure on opposing defenses. He also showed the ability to apply pressure as an on-ball defender, using his solid frame to make things difficult for opposing guards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2828274' first='Grady' last='Ogden'] | 6'4" Guard | St. James Academy</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ogden continues to pull in offers, with multiple programs coming his way over the last few weeks, including his most recent offer from Southwestern. His length, perimeter shooting, and ability to create space off the dribble are definite strengths within his game right now. Those tools give him a strong foundation to continue building on as he moves through the recruiting process.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2826190' first='Daniel' last='Rock'] | 6'6" Forward | St. Thomas Aquinas</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rock has now added two offers, from Kansas Wesleyan and Bethany, with both coming in the last few days. Known as a strong finisher around the rim, Rock also looks to be developing a more consistent perimeter game, showing the ability to stretch the floor as a shooter. That combination of finishing ability and perimeter shooting should continue to make him an intriguing option for programs at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Jayton Chrostowski | 6'0" Guard | Harrisonville</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chrostowski added an offer from Nebraska Wesleyan in early August and has now picked up a second offer from Saint Mary. Jayton should be the face of a strong Harrisonville team this winter, with the ball in his hands often and plenty of opportunities to make an impact. His role and production this season should give him another chance to continue building his recruiting profile.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2930690' first='Kalem' last='Schmelzle'] | 6'4" Forward | Nemaha Central</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Schmelzle is back in the recruiting news, picking up an offer from Central College.
