Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase | SW Indiana Prospects

The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Camp brought together a talented group of 2030 prospects from across the state for an opportunity to compete and showcase their abilities. Southwest Indiana was well represented, with several prospects making their presence felt throughout the day. We take a closer look at some of the Southwest Indiana standouts who caught our attention with their performances:    Dynamic quick twitch left handed guard out of Evansville North that is so good in the open floor. 6'0” [player_tooltip player_id='3726789' first='Braiden' last='Baker'] is a shifty scoring guard that is starting to put everything together. His confidence continues to build on the offensive end where he is starting to learn how to use his abilities. Quick first step with his handle makes him special in the open floor as well as in isolation situations on the wing. Has the ability to stop on a dime and rise up in the midrange while also having a smooth stroke from deep. Best when he's in attack mode looking to score, but is an unselfish player that looks to make the right play.     Physical high IQ guard that impacts the game in so many different ways. [player_tooltip player_id='2925238' first='Finnley' last='Cole'] of North Daviess is a bigger guard that thrives on getting downhill. Able to turn the corner and get defenders on his hip and get to any spot he wants. Capable of scoring around the basket or stopping on a dime and rising up over his defender with a soft touch. Excellent playmaker with good court vision. Plays a mature game that is always in attack mode but is never rushed. Rebounds at a high level from the guard spot and is a hard nosed defender with good instincts to go along with his length and athleticism.     Evansville Memorial 2030 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3664530' first='Quentin' last='Glisson'] came into the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase coming off a strong summer and had great performances in front of me. He's a natural scoring guard that shoots the cover off the ball. Does a good job with creating seperation and is able to get into his shot quickly off the bounce. Strong handle with some wiggle to him that helps him get to spots on the floor. Elevates well in the midrange and can finish in crafty ways around the basket. Really competed on the defensive end. Hard nosed defender that can put pressure on the ball, but is still a place in need of improvement for him. Has the chance to get serious time this year for the Tigers and has the offensive game to give them a spark.     Another Evansville Memorial product that turned heads early and often at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. [player_tooltip player_id='3718858' first='JJ' last='Hawkins'], a 6'3” Wing/Forward got going in the 3v3 portion with his ability to get to the basket and play in space. Long and athletic prospect that is able to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Versatile defender with active hands that lives in passing lanes looking to turn defense into offense in a hurry. Capable shooter on the offensive end, but is best when he's attacking the basket. Could get some varsity action this season, but has as much upside as anyone in a loaded Evansville Memorial freshman class and his best basketball is ahead of him.     Confident left handed guard that I've gotten a up and close look at for a long time that just flat out makes plays. [player_tooltip player_id='3621926' first='Gaige' last='Lubbehusen'] out of Tecumseh is a high IQ guard that is aggressive on the offensive end. Tempo pusher that sees the floor well and is a willing passer. Scores in a variety of different ways and plays at his own pace. Does a nice job of using angles on his drives to get by his man. Has a variety of ways to score around the basket, as well as a nice pull up jumper in the midrange. Will need to add weight, but plays long with active hands. Will be a Day 1 varsity contributor for a Tecumseh team that returns 100% production from last season.     Another player that I've gotten an up close look the last couple years. [player_tooltip player_id='3689683' first='Parker' last='Toothman'], a 6'2” Wing/Forward out of Perry Central has an unorthodox playing style, but is productive on both ends of the floor. Nice inside-out game offensively that takes what the defense gives him. Strong finisher around the basket and rebounds at a high level. Defensively, he's capable of guarding multiple positions. Has good length and continues to get better athletically. Apart of a very talented freshman class at Perry Central that will have some big time expectations in the next couple of years.
