City of Basketball Love will host its annual Interstate Shootout this weekend, bringing in over 100 teams from across the region to compete at the Sixth Man Center over the course of two jam-packed days. Take a look below at a handful of individual matchups we're looking forward to watching on Saturday.

2028 CG [player_tooltip player_id='3501981' first='John' last='Leet'] (Methacton) vs. 2028 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2683648' first='Jayce' last='Rodriguez'] (Colonia)

If you're a fan of perimeter shooting then you'll want to lock in early for this 9:55am matchup between two of the most prolific snipers in the region. Both Leet and Rodriguez took on leadership roles as sophomores for traditionally strong public school programs and should each take aim at their schools' respective record books if they continue their pace over the next two seasons.

Leet is still bubbling a bit under the radar in recruiting circles but has put himself on the radar of a handful of academic D1 programs throughout the region, while Rodriguez has a pair of D1 offers in tow coming off a successful first summer on the EYBL circuit. Each of them has the ability to string together makes in bunches from beyond the arc, both off the dribble and off the catch, and are each a threat to go for 30 whenever they suit up with their school teams.

2027 C [player_tooltip player_id='2977917' first='Sabir' last='Lyn'] (Roman Catholic) vs. 2028 C [player_tooltip player_id='3040515' first='Shriyans' last='Mallavarapu'] (Montgomery)

Fans of inside play need look no further than this 2:30 matchup between two blossoming big men with differing styles but similar impacts in the way they control the paint. After being forced to sit out his junior season due to transfer restrictions, Lyn has looked like a man on a mission since the spring, finally getting a chance to showcase the work he's put in to steadfastly built his game from the ground up over the past 24 months. He's as efficient a low-post scorer as there is in the region with nice feel as a passer from the block and evolving athleticism as a rebounder and shot-blocker. Mallavarapu, on the other hand, makes his presence felt as more of a rim-runner, with a rail-thin but live body and a steady motor to put himself in the mix consistently on both ends of the floor.

Both Lyn and Mallavarapu are tracking as D1 prospects with plenty of upside left to tap into, and the matchup should be an intriguing clash of styles that will be a productive evaluation setting for coaches and scouts alike.

2027 CG [player_tooltip player_id='2529631' first='Jaden' last='Craft'] (Devon Prep) vs. 2028 CG [player_tooltip player_id='2504902' first='Jamieson' last='Young'] (Cherry Hill East)

Another matchup that could include double-digit 3s between the two players, Craft and Young will both serve as focal points in a 2:30 matchup of two perennial championship-level programs. This figures to be an intriguing contest on a team level as well, with both teams playing highly structured pass-and-cut systems that feature an abundance of crisp ball movement and team play.

Craft and Young both have the opportunity and ability to break off and create their own shot when appropriate, with Craft sporting a spindly but rapidly-growing frame and Young playing more of a compact but deceptively strong style. Both prospects received their first D1 offers this summer, with Craft being recently offered by Navy at the end of August and Young by Le Moyne back in June.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2447918' first='Malik' last='Brown'] (Lower Merion) vs. 2027 SF Kalil Riley (Tower Hill)

Two rangy and athletic wing forwards, Brown and Riley will square off at 3:25 while both getting familiar in somewhat new but familiar situations. Brown is just getting in the swing of things at Lower Merion after transferring late in the summer from Imhotep Charter, but there's some familiarity there as he spent his freshman year in the Aces' program before transferring out. Riley, on the other hand, will be playing with a blended team of his own Tower Hill teammates and counterparts from Wilmington Friends, with both teams missing large portions of their regular rosters due to multisport obligations.

Brown has shown some really interesting flashes over the years with dripping length, natural touch, and evolving explosiveness as a two-way playmaker. He got a bit lost at times in a crowded rotation at Imhotep but should have a chance to flourish as a focal point for LM. Riley, on the other hand, has built a reputation in Delaware but burst onto the scene regionally this AAU season as one of the more versatile defensive forwards around. Both are scholarship-level prospects who bring similar strengths to the table and could be worth a look for the right D1 program.
