Stock Rising 2027 Guard Prospects From Illinois The Expo

We just finished going through the team evaluations from The Expo. Here are some further prospects in the class of 2027 at the guard position who were impressive as well.    Agyeman made a strong impact as a 2 man making plays on both ends of the floor. He capitalized offensively on most opportunities in the transition game using his speed to get ahead of the defense and then convert at the rim. In the ½ court setting he showed shooting ability from three land as well. On the other side Agyeman created havoc in the back court at times using on ball pressure and in the passing lanes turning takeaways into scores. A 2 way player from Plainfield East with size and mobility.     Reynolds showed ability to knock down spot up threes while also getting downhill to create advantages. He impressed with driving ability from the wings on either side to create open looks for teammates after drawing help. Reynolds runs the floor well at the off guard slot and seemed to always be in the mix of the play. Overall a team glue guy that brings positive attributes to help make winning plays with smart IQ.     Dagon his presence felt on both ends. Defensively will pressure at times beyond half court. He also showed some craft in the lane with a smooth euro step finish while displaying ability to score over length. Dagon's jumper looked smooth and confident from mid range and beyond the arc as well.     We saw Davis compete at our Windy City War event at the end of April where he shot it well from beyond the arc. This weekend he bought more of that consistent perimeter production but also showed he can get to the cup and finish regardless of size between defenders and over more length. Davis brings valuable energy and effort to the floor which helps a team gain momentum and play with unity. He uses his quick hands and scrappy style of play on both sides of the ball while keeping the motor running the whole game. The combo guard from ACC will be slated for an impactful senior campaign.     Lacy has a motor that doesn't stop. He's tough, sound, consistent, and shows excellent feel with the rock in his hands. I have seen him play multiple times over this spring and summer season with his AAU and High School teams and now in our showcase and he always brings his game with another level of competitiveness. Situationally Lacy shows keen awareness in transition either making quality reads to teammates or opportunities for himself off the bounce. His fluid athleticism creates an advantage when getting downhill and his confident approach from all 3 levels impacts. Dependent upon program need you can slide him into the 1 or 2 where he will make a positive difference at either position.     Brown utilized his length in multiple areas to impact from the wing spot. He showed ability to stretch the floor and knock down multiple spot up 3's with a consistent stroke. Brown brought activity on the glass as well grabbing rebounds on both sides of the ball with a couple being for put back scores. Overall he brings an intriguing combination of length, perimeter shooting, and activity around the basket.     Brown plays with a consistent hustle mentality to make plays on both ends. As a combo guard, he shows a strong dribble while being a crafty finisher around the rim. On his handle Brown will catch with poise and then has ability to change speeds to get defenders off balance. His jumper looks sound from beyond the arc. In the transition game he threw a well timed lob pass to his teammate for an assist and continued to run the floor with energy throughout.     Love has a sound overall feel with the rock in his hands to be a 1 or 2 man. He looked comfortable throughout the day creating and navigating through traffic off of dribble drive action. At times he can be shifty and will change direction in order to hit tight gaps hard. His strong lower body provides an added balance and control when playing through contact. He was composed and poised throughout the day with a keen demeanor playing as a lead or off guard. Defensively Love competes at the point of attack staying engaged and using his strength and lateral movement to challenge against his opponent.     Liked Sims ability to create with the ball and show a shifty handle getting into offense off the bounce. He looked to push immediately off of outlets or defensive rebounds getting into transition. Finishing wise he converted on a reverse layup and another fast break layup going full speed. In the ½ court setting, Sims used a shot to make the defender rise and then dribbled once for a pull up mid range. He showed solid court vision as well making quick swing passes on the perimeter to set teammates up.     Harvey has a solid frame at the wing position. His high release on his jumper from mid range or from 3 allows him to shoot over outreached arms vs more size. In transition he gets out and runs the floor hard off of defensive rebounds to help create break points. He showed ability to space the floor and capitalize off of one pass to knock down spot up threes or get to the rim and finish. Defensively Harvey creates turnovers with his defensive awareness and came up with multiple steals either in the passing lane or on the ball throughout the day.     A pass first point guard that shows good feel and rhythm with the rock while keeping teammates involved. He shares the ball cohesively within offensive flow and makes the extra pass for a better look. Giannini impacted the game in other areas as well while digging for steals on drives, crashing the offensive glass from the guard location for putbacks or resets, and pushing for pace immediately after defensive boards. He brings solid overall court awareness to affect the game and help his team make winning plays.
