Matthew Graves Indiana State Elite Camp Top Performers

The Matthew Graves Indiana State Elite Camp brought together a talented group of prospects for an opportunity to compete in front of the Indiana State coaching staff. Throughout the camp, several players separated themselves with their production, competitiveness, and overall impact on both ends of the floor. Here's a look at some of the top performers from the day.    Physically the most dominant player at camp, Dominion Bunch out of Miller Grove was impactful on both ends of the floor. The 6'7” Forward measured with a +3 wingspan and used it extremely well defensive end protection the rim at a high level. Physical presence that did show the ability to step out offensively, but when he would get post position, he was basically unstoppable. Great hands with good footwork and a soft touch. He was able to clear out one side and go to work. Really intriguing post player with explosive athleticism around the rim.     My first up close look at [player_tooltip player_id='2865166' first='Alec' last='Heichelbech'], 2027 Point Guard out of Center Grove, and he was excellent all camp long. Strong framed guard that isn't necessarily the quickest or most athletic player on the floor, but was really good at using body to get to his spots. Excellent finisher around the basket. Doesn't get sped up and always plays with his eyes up looking to make the right play. More of a pass first guard today that did a nice job setting teammates up while also keeping the defense honest with his perimeter jumper and his drives. High energy guard that plays really hard on every possession.     Talented shooting guard with good positional size at 6'5”. Chase Kasten got going in front of me in the last two games of the scrimmage portion and was quite impressive showing not only his outstanding perimeter shooting, but loved his overall feel on the offensive end. Plays at his own pace. Has a good handle that allows him to get downhill. Showed he's a willing passer when the defensive helped he was able to find open shooters. Thought he really competed on the defensive end of the floor. Solid rebounder and was able to guard and contain multiple positions at his size.     Carter Savoy out of Atascocita, Texas was one of the players that caught my eye early on based off his size and skill set. Long and lanky Wing that simply played harder than everyone else at camp and made big time plays on both ends of the floor because of it. He did it all on the floor. Really good rebounder on both ends of the floor. Was able to rip and run off the defensive end was really good in transition both as a scorer and a playmaker. Offensively he was comfortable with the ball in his hands breaking down his defender. Good looking jumper that should make him a capable shooter, but didn't hit any perimeter shots in front of me.     Much like Kasten, [player_tooltip player_id='2389804' first='Lucas' last='Thompson'] out of De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis is a skilled wing that was able to do a lot of different things on the court today at camp. 6'5” with a pure offensive game that didn't force the issue and just took what the defense gave him. Whether it was a catch and shoot three, or a curl off a screen for a midrange jumper. Also showed his playmaking ability off the dribble making good decisions reading the defense. Used his size well on the defensive end. Solid rebounder and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
