High School Spotlight: Mt. Vernon-Fortville Marauders

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Mt. Senior center [player_tooltip player_id='2140419' first='Max' last='Vise'] returns as the clear candidate to become the next leader for the program and is poised for a major breakout season. The 6-foot-8 big man is one of the top prospects in Indiana's 2027 class thanks to his elite rim-running ability, pick-and-roll finishing, mobility, and agility around the basket. Vise has all the tools that college programs look for in a modern big man and has already established himself as a legitimate Division I prospect. This season will provide him with the opportunity to showcase that talent on a bigger stage and prove why he is one of the state's premier frontcourt players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2719712' first='Keagan' last='Battles']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There will be plenty of players looking to step into larger roles for Mt. Vernon this season, but one of the biggest additions expected to make an immediate impact is 6-foot-1 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2719712' first='Keagan' last='Battles']. Battles brings good positional size, athleticism, and versatility to the backcourt while projecting as a high-level two-way perimeter player. He has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor and should provide the Marauders with another reliable scoring option. Expect Battles to quickly become one of the top offensive contributors for Mt.
