CoBL Underclassmen Camp: Unranked PA 2029 eye-catchers

City of Basketball Love held its annual August underclassmen on Friday afternoon at Abington Friends, bringing in over 100 of the top rising freshmen and sophomores from across the Philly tri-state region. Several known names made their presence felt but these unranked 2029 prospects from PA also caught the eye and made a strong case to be included in the next update.    Largely an unknown commodity after a limited varsity role as a freshman and an injury that prevented him from playing in the June scholastic periods, Per was sure to announce himself and looked the part of a future focal point for the Fighting Owls. He caught the eye with his energy, versatility, and athleticism while consistently filling in gaps from the wing whether in the halfcourt or transition. Per was able to create for himself while getting all the way to the rim off the bounce or capitalize on opportunities as a cutter and floor-spacer. The son of a coach, it should only be a matter of time before he's on collegiate radars if his play on Friday was any indication.     After a year on JV, Graham looked ready to crack the varsity rotation as a consistent spark from the backcourt. A wiry combo guard, he was effective offensively while showcasing shiftiness off the bounce and strong overall touch as both a finisher and shotmaker from the perimeter. It was a tough setting to get a feel for Graham's overall floor game as a potential lead guard, but his offensive arsenal was evident and we'll look forward to seeing him in a game situation before too long.     In a guard-heavy setting, Parker was able to stand out with his ability to consistently keep the ball on a string while keeping his eyes up on his way to the rim. He was a constant threat putting pressure on the paint whether to finish swiftly around the rim himself or drop off to an open teammate. He should have a chance to step into the varsity rotation consistently this year for a rebuilding ANC group and could be a useful spark with his ability to generate paint touches.     It may take a bit for Tumelty to crack the rotation for a Wood team loaded with D1 talent, but he showed he could be a nice piece for the future with a smooth off-ball skillset in the backcourt. Tumelty showed a smooth shooting stroke with nice instincts for finding open space on the perimeter, also punishing some closeouts with swift straight-line drives off the bounce. With length to grow into and some wiry strength in his frame, he looks like a safe bet to be a solid small-college prospect down the line with some upside to rise if he can develop and show more in game action at Wood moving forward.     While camps can tend to be dominated by those who chase points or highlights, Boyd was able to stand out with his steady hand as a floor general. Playing on his home floor, he showed the comfort and IQ to make the right play at the right time while commanding his team in the halfcourt setting. Boyd was also effective as a pest on the defensive end, forcing turnovers at the point of attack to spark transition opportunities going the other way. He looks like a key long-term building block for an AFS team looking to make some moves within the Friends League landscape.
