2026 VKTRY All-American Camp: 2028 Forward Standouts

The 2028 class featured an intriguing collection of forwards at the VKTRY All-American Camp, with players making an impact through their size, athleticism, skill and versatility. Whether they were scoring inside, stretching the floor, controlling the glass or defending multiple positions, several prospects found ways to separate themselves against strong competition. Here's a look at the 2028 forwards who caught my attention throughout the camp.    The hard playing forward was up to his usual tricks, proving to be a force at the rim. He rebounded well on both ends of the floor and caught a handful of lobs as he ran pick and role with his guards to perfection. A pogo-stick athlete that plays larger than his listed 6-foot-7, Sheard has gotten better over the Spring and Summer. Keep an eye out for the talented forward.     The high upside forward showcased why he can be such a mismatch issue with his shot making at his size. A good athlete who has a nose for the ball on both ends, Miller is an effective slasher and good defender when he's engaged. Look for this to be a "breakout" year of sorts for the Pennsylvania native.     Morrissey continues to impress with his rebounding, scoring around the basket, and ability to stretch the floor. He gets up and down quickly enough and was one of the top academic players in attendance. Look for the rapidly-improving forward to be one of the top players on Long Island this season.     Patton turned in a high level weekend thanks to his non-stop motor and athleticism. The talented combo forward was effective as a lob threat as well as a slasher and showcased his range as a shooter to boot. In the modern game, Patton can slide in seamlessly as a small ball four man who can slide up or down in the lineup depending on what's needed from him. On a Phelps team that can use a player like him, Patton appears poised for a big junior campaign.     Chwastyk was the MVP camp at the end of three days of play at Haverford College. Whether it was scoring with his back to the basket or from the perimeter, his ability to put the ball in the basket was on display on top of his rebounding and shot blocking. An ideal skill set for a modern four/five man, Chwastyk will have no shortage of college suitors when the time ultimately comes.     Samake should be on a shortlist of breakout candidates in CHSAA play this fall. An active and versatile forward who can anchor the paint or face up and attack off the dribble, Samake is a mismatch offensively and a great fit next to what might be the league's best perimeter trio at Christ the King.     As steady as they come, Manya continues to produce regardless of setting. Soft hands and a big wingspan help him vacuum up rebounds and challenge shots despite being largely an undersized center. There's zero back down in his game and he routinely fought for loose ball and rebounds as well as brought energy to his team.
