PH National Open Championship: Max’s Day 3 Standouts

At 6'5 he acted as his Fury team's "big", often times defending against bigger forwards in the paint. Owen competed with physicality to battle for position on every possession, and did a great job of finding a body to box out after a shot went up. You rarely see guys at 6'10 moving with the fluidity that Hunter does, and it allowed him to make plays in the open floor and off the dribble in the half-court. Hunter showcased a quick release from three off the catch, while also hitting a step-back jumper out on the wing. He racked up 4-5 made jumpers in the first half alone showcasing such a quick release on his shot. Any time his team needed a bucket, they got the ball to Tyrece and let him go to work. He started off high school as more of a catch-and-shoot three point threat, but since then has continued to expand his game off the dribble. Listed at 6'6 he has a long and agile frame with some explosiveness around the basket. On one play he jumped a pass for a steal, then beat a defender with a spin move before elevating to drop the ball in with two hands at the rim. Moves with a fluidity and comfort on the ball that you don't see from most young players his age/size. When his team needed him most, Jase connected on the go-ahead three from the top of the key to put his team in front in the final minute of play. The confidence to put the ball in his hands in that late game situation shows just how good of a shooter Jase is. During the first half he had a run of play where he converted an and-one finish, then went straight into the defender's body to finish over a 6'5+ forward, followed up by a three pointer. Up-and-coming Andover guard that is still growing into his frame, but has a nice skillset with a smooth stroke out beyond the arc. With his skill-set he's able to play either guard spot, and he helped lead his Fury team to a lot of wins this spring/summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
