Paxton Engelby Paxton Engelby 6'1" | PG/SG Andover | 2028 State MN is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2028 Andover and Minnesota Fury Shepherd guard. Engelby did what he usually does well, hit 3-pointers. In the 5v5 contest I watched Engelby drilled three off them including two in transition pull-up jumpers. Engelby was active on the floor rebounding and he stole one outlet pass, drove to the basket and got an assist on a dump off pass. Another possession he dug in on a post-up big man and stole the ball and as a ball handler ran pick and roll with a wing who he hit with a good pass for an acrobatic finish. Another assist Engelby made a pass on a transition play from the right wing hitting a cutting teammate on a rim run.

Paxton played very well without the ball in his hands, constantly moving around to open himself up. The junior guard is a great shooter and could not be left with any space on the perimeter, as he is at his best when shooting off the catch. He also attacked close outs very well, being able to get inside where he could finish around the rim at full speed with either hand.

Paxton Engelby Paxton Engelby 6'1" | PG/SG Andover | 2028 State MN – Engelby is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2028 Andover guard that really can shoot the ball from beyond the 3-point arc and Engelby can do that in a number of different ways. Engelby is best off the catch from the perimeter and isn’t a guard you want to leave open. Engelby continues to show he can play either guard spot while shining a bit more as a secondary ball handler with his spot-up shooting ability.

Paxton had some nice moments that had his Fury-Shepherd team in it until the very end in the 16u championship game. During the first half he had a run of play where he converted an and-one finish, then went straight into the defender’s body to finish over a 6’5+ forward, followed up by a three pointer. Up-and-coming Andover guard that is still growing into his frame, but has a nice skillset with a smooth stroke out beyond the arc. With his skill-set he’s able to play either guard spot, and he helped lead his Fury team to a lot of wins this spring/summer.
