P32 League (Live Period) – Ramsey’s Friday Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Hoops Indiana continued coverage of the P32 League on Friday in Chesterfield, Missouri at The Beal Center. Over the course of our day and a half at this event we were able to see 18 of the 21 teams that featured Indiana High School prospects. Now it is wheels up to Richmond, Virginia for Puma action on Saturday and Sunday. Brown was a standout once again on Friday while playing up a year for [program_tooltip program_id='2399422' first='Darius' last='Garland Elite'] 15u. He was strong and confident off of the bounce and displayed a smooth mid-range pull-up jump shot. Brown ended up leading all scorers with 19 points in a victory. He may "just" be 5'10", but he has explosive quickness and all-around athletic ability as well as a strong frame built on the football field. Irby was a relentless downhill attacker on Friday while helping lead LVL Up 17u to an impressive victory. He scored 15 points in the game. Meux and Gillis had bigger seasons as freshmen, but it was Johnson who shined on Friday morning for Darius Garland 15u. The 5'8" left-handed guard knocked in a few three-point shots and displayed some shiftiness and explosiveness when attacking the basket. The 5'11" guard is a relentless driver that had a ton of success getting to the paint and finishing off of the dribble. The super athletic 6'2" guard was excellent getting downhill to the rim, finishing at the end of his drives, and then finding open teammates when the defense started collapsing more aggressively. The 6'0" sharpshooter drilled a couple of early three-point shots and then started to attack the defense as they pressured him more on the perimeter. His perimeter shot-making ability puts so much pressure on opponents. Szaferski was aggressive with the ball in his hands both as a perimeter shot-maker and penetrator. He is an excellent passer, but has really been showcasing his scoring ability lately. The 6'5" Lawrence North High School graduate has reclassified to 2027 and will attend TAD Academy in Las Vegas. He shot the ball very well from three-point range and flashed his athleticism when attacking closeouts and operating in transition. There is a lot to like about his offensive skill level and versatility.
