Day 1 Illinois Standouts from Nike EYBL Vegas Session 4

Wednesday kicked off the 4th session of the EYBL in Vegas. Here were the Standouts players from Illinois who are currently still IHSA players.   [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last='']   [player_tooltip player_id='2862587' first='Dajuan' last='Brown'] (Bradley Bourbonnais) 2029   Stats 9 PTS , 5 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL , 1 BLK    Brown turned in a masterclass in hyper-efficient scoring. He didn't miss a single shot all game, going 4-for-4 from the field while knocking down his lone three-point attempt. Beyond the flawless shooting, he acted as a high-level connector, facilitating the offense with 4 assists and chipping in across the board with 5 rebounds, a steal, and a block.   [player_tooltip player_id='2886496' first='TJ' last='Jamison'] (Whitney Young) 2029   Stats 10 PTS ,7 REB, 2 AST and 1 STL    Jamison was a massive focal point of the offense, playing a team-high 28 minutes and hunting his shot with 15 field goal attempts. While his perimeter jumper wasn't falling from deep, he found ways to salvage his night inside the arc, going 4-for-10 on two-pointers and hitting both of his free throws to reach double figures. He made up for the cold shooting night by crashing the glass hard, pulling down 7 rebounds.   [player_tooltip player_id='2538631' first='Grant' last='Smith'] (Lyons Township) 2028   Stats 11 PTS | 7 REB | 3 STL | 2 BLK |   Smith filled up the stat sheet over his team-high 27 minutes. He co led the team in scoring 11 points and 7 rebounds while playing with tremendous defensive energy, pacing the defense with 3 steals and 2 blocks. He struggled a bit with efficiency inside 3 for 9 but knocked down a long-range shot from three and went a perfect at the line. His highly aggressive defensive night ultimately cut his game short, as he fouled out with 5 personal fouls.   [player_tooltip player_id='2531962' first='Amir' last='Tucker'] (St. Ignatius) 2028   Stats 10 PTS | 5 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL    Tucker was ultra-aggressive looking for his shot during his 22 minutes on the floor. While his perimeter jumper wasn't falling, he was highly effective when putting his head down and attacking the paint, converting most of his two-point attempts to finish with 10 points. He also took excellent care of the ball, logging zero turnovers while chipping in 5 rebounds.   [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire']   [player_tooltip player_id='2918205' first='Keiwon' last='Gulley'] (Thornton) 2029   Stat 22 PTS | 4 REB | 2 AST | 3 STL    Takeaway: Gulley was the engine of this team, playing every single second of the 32-minute game. While he forced a few looks and gave up 5 turnovers due to his heavy usage, his aggressive downhill driving forced the defense into continuous rotations. He lived at the charity stripe, knocking down a crucial 7-of-8 free throws, and made his presence felt on the defensive perimeter with 3 steals.   [player_tooltip player_id='2915584' first='DK' last='Heard'] (Mount Carmel) 2029   Stats 22 PTS, 5 REB ,1 STL, 1 BLK    Takeaway: Heard turned in an incredibly efficient, nearly flawless offensive performance. He provided elite floor spacing by going a perfect 3-for-3 from deep and complemented it with flawless 5-for-5 shooting from the free-throw line. With only 1 turnover in 29 minutes, his decision-making and shot selection were on point.   [player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens']| (Kenwood) 2027   Stats 15 PTS | 9 REB | 1 STL |   Stephens was a workhorse, playing a team-high 31 minutes and nearly notched a double-double. He was highly aggressive attacking inside, doing all of his damage on two-pointers where he went 6-14 while struggling from deep. Though he got to the line heavily, he left points on the board, shooting just 3 for 9 from the stripe.   [player_tooltip player_id='3643306' first='Amari' last='Williams'] | (Shepard) 2028   Stats 5 PTS | 7 REB | 1 AST | 3 BLK |    Williams made a massive defensive impact inside during his 18 minutes, swatting a team-high 3 blocks and cleaning up 7 rebounds. He was efficient with his limited touches, hitting his lone two-point attempt and going from the free-throw line. However, his aggressiveness caught up to him, as his afternoon was cut short after fouling out with 5 personal fouls.   Brad Beal Elite   [player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] (Bolingbrook) 2028   Stats 31 PTS | 5 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL   Pettigrew put on an offensive clinic, exploding for a game-high 31 points in 29 minutes. He was relentless when attacking inside, shooting an efficient 7 for 12 with athletic plays at the basket constantly putting immense pressure on the defense. His aggressive slashing allowed him to live at the charity stripe, where he shot a heavy volume of free throws, converting 14 of 19 . He also made his presence felt everywhere else, chipping in 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and swiping a team-high 3 steals.   [player_tooltip player_id='2467517' first='Darrius' last='Hawkins'] Jr (Homewood Flossmoor) 2028   Stats 6 PTS | 6 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL    Hawkins acted as a steady, versatile connector on the floor. While he had a tough night shooting, he knocked down his lone three-point attempt and impacted winning in non-scoring columns. He led the team with 4 assists, showing great vision in the half-court, and used his energy and extra effort effectively from the guard position to lead the team with 6 rebounds.   [player_tooltip player_id='3576059' first='Emurion' last='Jackson'] | (East St Louis) 2029   Stat 14 PTS | 6 REB | 1 AST | 3 STL | 0 TO   Jackson was the standout performer for Brad Beal Elite, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and minutes. He was highly efficient inside, on two-point field goals, and consistently forced pressure by attacking the rim to get to the free-throw line. Defensively, his anticipation was excellent, generating a team-high 3 steals while playing completely mistake-free basketball with zero turnovers.   [player_tooltip player_id='2964028' first='Elon' last='Henderson'] (Leo) 2029   Stat 4 PTS | 2 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK   Henderson provided valuable depth and served as a secondary rim-protector, tying for the team lead with 2 assists. While his shot struggled to fall from the field, he made a significant impact on the defensive end. He used his length effectively to disrupt possessions, chipping in 2 steals and a block over his 24 minutes of action.
