Class B basketball in North Dakota is never short on talent, and this upcoming season looks to be no exception. From small towns across the state, a group of dangerous ballers is ready to make their mark, and they're bringing the kind of game that can compete with anybody on the floor.

In this article, we're highlighting some of the Class B hoopers who are primed to make some noise this season, with a nice mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen included from all corners of the state. Scoring, playmaking, athleticism, and pure winning basketball are all on display within this group, and each of these players has earned the right to be talked about heading into the year.

Set to Storm the State

Bergy is already a bona fide playmaker who was All-State last season. People should not be surprised if the Jays make another deep run in the State Tournament. Blake will put up crazy numbers and put on a show along the way. Bergstrom is one of the most skilled lead guards in ND and will be one of the top 3-point shot-makers in Class B.

Hansen is ready to make a name for himself. Hansen is putting in the time this off-season and improving his already intriguing game. Brady has noteworthy size for a '30, moves well, and is a knockdown shooter. Smart player, slashes & dishes, and is tough like all the Miners. Hansen will certainly be an impact player as a frosh.

PHD has written about Brody a good amount this off-season as we think he is a stud and emerging star in Class B. Richter has it all with skill, size, uber-athleticism, and dead-eye shooting. The Lions will be scary and Brody will be a top-tier playmaker. The trio of talented guards: Richter, Bosch, Jochim will be doing a lot of winnin' for Linton.

Drew should be a Stock Riser in the next Rankings Update. From what I saw this spring, he will be an absolute dude in B. Hofmann is a serious athlete loaded with versatility. He makes the high-effort plays, scores from every level, and will impress you with his two-way playmaking.

Undlin was an All-Stater this past season and we are expecting him to be a 1st Team guy this coming year. Undlin will be bigger, faster, and stronger than most or all of his opponents on the wing. Besides being an impressive athlete, Eli is skilled, a gifted shooter, a tough defender, and a great teammate. Get ready for a memorable senior season from this Maverick.

-All-around hooper and a 2-way dawg. Ethan scores the rock from every level. I used to think of him more as a cutter and slasher, but Retterath can certainly cash the 3-ball. Ethan is a grinder/hustler who creates turnovers, locks up, and also dishes assists. Retterath is a solid athlete and a competitor. If the Cards need a bucket this winter, expect Ethan to have the ball in his hands.

Westlind is a talented and athletic baller. I have heard reports that he has shot it hot this summer. He is working hard on his game, and his strength/mobility continue to improve. After a standout sophomore season, Ian is primed for an All-State junior year campaign.

Meier is the best BIG in Class B, in my opinion. Jyles is a strong, physical old-school low-post player. He creates a ton of space, plays stout defense, and is a feet/low post moves continue to improve. I am a big fan of his passing and unselfishness. He is a next-level ball player. This Tornado will cause damage all across Region 1. Will he and [player_tooltip player_id='2052770' first='Beau' last='Thorpe'] lead the orange and black to State?

I am intrigued by Kael's length and sharpshooting from beyond the arc. I see him as one of the top shooters in class B this season. He also protects the paint, scores inside the arc, and sets up others. He will be a Double-Double machine and put up All-State type of numbers. The problem is, the Crusaders have not won a ton of games in the past, so Mr. Nix is flying under the radar a bit.

It sounds like Glen Ullin-Hebron will not have a team this year. I was told that Hebron will be in a co-op with Richardton-Taylor. So that means the big man will be a Raider this year. Schneider is a tough low post who provides a presence on both ends. He is very efficient and a high-percentage shooter. It will be fun to see how he blends in with the top guards for RT. The Raiders could be solid in District 7. Reid will easily be one of the top BIGs in B.

Barman is a superstar in everything that he does. This winter will be no different. Ty is a complete mismatch and a rockstar athlete. He will average a double-double, hammer highlight dunks, win a ton of games, and be back on the All-State team once again. Will he lead the Jays to the State Championship?

He was a very good role player in club hoops, did the little things, and won a ton of games. I appreciate Michalenko's offensive rebounding, shot block/rim-protecting, and unslefish/skilled passing. When he is back in high school ball, I think Tygen will score plenty of points and put up solid numbers this winter. He will certainly be a matchup for most teams with his height and all-around game.

Weekley helped the Knights to a Runner-Up finish this past season; he will no doubt have his eye on the big prize this coming season. Wyatt is easily an All-State guy, the question is, will ORCS lose a game? Weekley will put up splashy numbers and make it look good. He is a long guard with sharp skills and loads of confidence.

Who starts the year ranked #1 in Class B, ORCS or Ray?

Class B basketball in North Dakota is never short on talent, and this upcoming season looks to be no exception. From small towns across the state, a group of dangerous ballers is ready to make their mark, and they're bringing the kind of game that can compete with anybody on the floor.
